Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for aggregating media content in an electronic messaging application starts with server system receiving from first client device a first media content item and a selection of client devices including second client device. Server system generates a group including first client device and client devices in the selection. Server system causes a group selectable item including a new item indication to be displayed by client devices included in the group. In response to receiving a first signal that indicates that a first portion of the group selectable item has been selected, server system causes the first media content item to be displayed by second client device. Once the first media content item is displayed for a period of time, server system removes the new item indication from the group selectable item and causes the group selectable item to be displayed by second client device. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Method of generating contextual sending menu starts with processor causing first client device to display first and second portion of display screen in inactivated position. Processor receives selection from first user of first client device of chat selectable item in application interface. Chat selectable item is associated with communication interface of messaging system. In response to receiving the selection, processor generates media content item based on context of first client device and causes first portion and second portion of display screen to be displayed in an activated position by causing first portion to contract, and causing second portion to expand and to comprise a preview of media content item and selectable item associated with second user. Processor then receives from the first user selection of the selectable item associated with the second user, and transmits media content item to second client device. A conversation interface is presented in a messaging application to enable a plurality of participants in a conversation to exchange messages with each other. A request from a first participant of the plurality of participants is received to launch a gaming application. In response to receiving the request from the first participant, a first message is transmitted to a second participant of the plurality of participants that indicates the first participant has launched the gaming application. In response to receiving the first message, an option is presented to the second participant in the conversation interface, the option associated with the gaming application to enable the second participant to join the first participant in the gaming application.
