  • Publication number: 20150252329
Abstract: A cell culture assembly includes a cell culturing device and a layer of ciliated cells. The cell culturing device includes at least one member defining an endless, substantially elliptical channel. The layer of ciliated cells is disposed in the elliptical channel.

  • Patent number: 6059498
Abstract: Line tensioning apparatus and method in which a slide is movable in first and second directions along an elongated bar, with a one-way brake on the slide engaging the bar and preventing movement of the slide in the second direction. The line is secured to the slide and then pulled to draw the slide in the first direction to tension the line, with the brake holding the slide where it is drawn to maintain tension in the line.

  • Patent number: 4344381
Abstract: Apparatus for electrostatically coating an elongated object of indefinite length which is aligned with the straight line path of the elongated object in a continuous manufacturing and finishing process. Electrostatic applicators are mounted to direct the coating into a substantially closed chamber at a portion of the elongated object passing therethrough. To substantially eliminate the explosive hazard occasioned by the use of an organic solvent-based coating material in the presence of electrical equipment, a combustibly inert atmosphere is maintained in the chamber and in an exhaust system leading therefrom. To maintain the electrostatic field, the coating chamber and associated coating equipment must be electrically isolated from ground.

  • Patent number: 4248270
Abstract: The inlet to the water valve is provided with a resilient flow control device which deflects under pressure to reduce the inlet orifice and maintain substantially uniform flow. On the outlet side of the flow control the liquid is forced to turn at right angles to reach the multiple restricted orifices where the liquid again must turn 90.degree.. At low pressures the flow is divided between 8 orifices 4 of which are gradually shut off by deflection of the flow control so at high inlet pressure the flow is divided among 4 orifices positioned in channels protecting them from being shut off by deflection of the flow control. The reduced velocity caused by the two 90.degree. turns in flow results in substantial reduction of flow noise.

  • Patent number: 3965551
Abstract: Lengths of polymer-coated tubing are continuously produced from steel strip by roll-forming and welding at a fast rate of speed. The welded tubing is sized, cleaned and heated to raise its temperature to that desired for applying a polymeric coating. After coating, the tubing is heated to a desired baking temperature and then cooled. The tubing is unsupported from a location upstream of the coating station until cooled. Elongated endless belts grip the tubing over a longitudinal distance of at least about 2 feet and pull the tubing in a controlled manner to maintain the tubing in precise spatial location throughout its heating, coating and baking.
