  • Patent number: 10032019
Abstract: Discrete events that take place with respect to a hard disk drive or other I/O device or port are indicated to logic that implements Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology (SMART) or similar technology. These events are communicated to SMART as event data. Examples of such discrete events include power on, power off, spindle start, and spindle stop, positioning of the actuator, and the time at which such events occur. SMART then compiles event data to create compiled activity data. Compiled activity data represents summary statistical information that is created by considering some or all of the event data. Examples of compiled activity data include the Time Powered On and Power Cycle Count. Collection logic then writes the compiled activity data to a memory medium. An analyst can then read data from log file(s).

  • Patent number: 9369497
Abstract: A communications session call is established between first and second call devices. A SIP Reinvite command is sent to the second call device without any SDP media parameters to gain new and current media parameters. The second call device acknowledges the Reinvite command as corresponding to the first SDP offer with new and current media parameters. A third call device is sent a SIP Reinvite command as a second SDP offer using new and current media parameters. The third call device acknowledges the SIP Reinvite command as corresponding to the first SDP answer to the first SDP offer. The second call device acknowledges as a second SDP answer to the second SDP offer. The call with the first call device is terminated to change the destination of the call and maintaining any media stream between the second and third call devices.

  • Patent number: 8510353
Abstract: A portable budgeting apparatus includes a housing with a display and input device coupled thereto. The apparatus includes an electronic memory device and processor. The processor includes programming for storing budget categories and respective modifiable money and priority values in the memory device for each budget category. Upon selection of a respective budget category and input of an expenditure value, the programming includes modifying the money value of a respective expenditure value by subtracting the expenditure value from the selected category's money value and, if the expenditure value is greater than the selected category's money value, subtracting the difference between the selected category's money value and the expenditure value from the money value of a respective category that has a money value greater than zero and a priority value that is lower than a priority value of all other the budget categories having money values greater than zero.

  • Patent number: 8437457
Abstract: A system and method routes a call within a communications network. A call routing device is interconnected to a plurality of trunks forming trunk groups and receives a call. A database stores a dialing plan having data related to restrictions as to which outbound trunk from the call routing device can be used based on an originating account as either a station or trunk of a caller or the number of a caller. A call router processor determines an outbound trunk from the call routing device to which a call from a caller is routed at the call routing device if the configured dial plan permits the originating account or number of the caller to access the selected outbound trunk. A call router routes the call from the caller onto the selected outbound trunk.

  • Patent number: 8396999
Abstract: A system having input/output hot spot tracking is disclosed. The storage system includes a storage device, a host controller coupled to the storage device, and a tracking engine coupled to the host controller and the storage device. The host controller is configured to managed input/output of the storage device. The tracking engine includes a storage map cycling between active status and passive status. Input/output commands are stored in the storage map during the active status. Like input/output commands in the storage map during active status are counted and compared to a number. Counts greater than the number are reported as input/output hot spots.

  • Patent number: 8370688
Abstract: Storage volumes are provided across a plurality of storage devices, where the storage volumes include at least a first storage volume and a second storage volume. A storage controller detects fault in a portion of a particular one of the plurality of storage devices, where the portion corresponds to the first storage volume. The storage controller identifies the particular storage device as faulty for the first storage volume without identifying the particular storage device as faulty for the second storage volume.
