  • Patent number: 4876652
Abstract: An improved system for controlling the operation of a cyclically moving shear mechanism, including a circuit for automatically synchronizing the cyclical actuation of a fluidic drive assembly to the timing of a related mechanism such as a glass gob feeder. The synchronizing circuit increases or decreases a "start delay time" each cycle if a Return sensor signal precedes or follows a Start signal, respectively. A count corresponding to the Start Delay period is adjusted within a single cycle by the amount required to bring the return sensor signal and the start signal back into synchronism in subsequent cycles.

  • Patent number: 4775941
Abstract: A control system for controlling the operation of the shears of a glassware forming machine. The control system incorporates sensors which produce signals representative of predetermined shear positions in each shear cycle, and in particular, makes use of the correlation between the duration of a Zero Crossover Signal and the point of maximum overlap of the shears. The system adjusts the time of deactuation of a fluidic drive assembly, and therefore, the overlap displacement, if the termination of the Zero Crossover pulse falls outside a defined "deadband". The Zero Crossover signal may also be monitored to provide alarm signals or shut the system down.

  • Patent number: 4554000
Abstract: A swing out support frame is provided on X-Y slide support structure such that one of several different diameter refractory tubes can be supported in a fixed spout bowl for rotation inside the bowl, and also for electrically controlled and non-electrically dependent vertical movement of the tube inside the bowl.
