  • Patent number: 10726594
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a media compositing method that performs automated processes (1) to analyze the media content pieces (MCPs) to define one or more MCP groups, and (2) produces a user interface (UI) layout that identifies the defined MCP groups as groups for which the method can display composite presentations (e.g., video presentations). To define the MCP groups, the method of some embodiments uses one or more media grouping templates (MGTs). In some embodiments, the method can define multiple MGT instances for an MGT. For instance, in some embodiments, the MGTs include (1) location-bounded MGTs (e.g., videos and/or photos captured within a region with a particular radius), (2) time-bounded MGTs (e.g., videos and/or photos captured within a particular time range and/or date range), (3) time-bounded and location-bounded MGTs (e.g., mornings at a beach), (4) content-defined MGTs (e.g., videos and/or photos containing smiles), and (5) user-metadata based MGTs (e.g.

  • Publication number: 20200171217
Abstract: A portable negative pressure wound therapy system includes a dressing assembly for positioning over a wound to apply a negative pressure to the wound and a canister assembly. The canister assembly includes a control unit having a vacuum source and a controller and a collection canister in communication with the dressing assembly operable to receive fluid from the wound. The collection canister has a filter assembly having a filter and a passageway between the filter and a wall of the collection canister. The collection canister also includes a canister interface having a suction port, an inlet port, and a channel. The vacuum source draws air through the suction port from the channel which draws air from the passageway connected to the channel, the air in the passageway is drawn from the collection canister through the filter, and the air in the collection canister is drawn through the inlet port.

  • Publication number: 20200012648
Abstract: A system and process for generalizing an evolutionary process applied to a particular domain involving different problems includes a researcher module for generating a configuration specification applicable to a particular problem. An evolution module parses the configuration specification into a representative tree structure, assembles policies for each node in the tree structure, and generates candidate genomes using the policies for each node in the tree structure. The policies may be applied to new data or data from prior runs to generate candidate genomes. The evolution module translates internal representations of the generated candidate genomes into known representations of the candidate genome for evaluation in accordance with the particular domain parameters by a candidate evaluation module.

  • Publication number: 20190372935
Abstract: Described herein is a process which facilitates segmented security between domain-specific data sets being evaluated as part of a candidate evaluation service and third-party evolution services, wherein the data sets are not transmitted to the evolution service which is evolving candidates for evaluation. This enables customers with secure data sets to use candidate evolution services securely by obtaining a population of potentially optimal candidate models to evaluate and then optimizing on those data sets in their own secure fashion.

  • Publication number: 20190220751
Abstract: Roughly described, a computer-implemented evolutionary data mining system includes a memory storing a candidate gene database in which each candidate individual has a respective fitness estimate; a gene pool processor which tests individuals from the candidate gene pool on training data and updates the fitness estimate associated with the individuals in dependence upon the tests; and a gene harvesting module for deploying selected individuals from the gene pool, wherein the gene pool processor includes a competition module which selects individuals for discarding in dependence upon their updated fitness estimate. The system maintains the ancestry count for each of the candidate individuals, and may use this information to adjust the competition among the individuals, to adjust the selection of individuals for further procreation, and/or for other purposes.
