    Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for refilling an ink reservoir associated with an ink jet printer cartridge containing foam material in the ink chamber of the cartridge. A fill fixture is provided with one or more needles to deliver ink to the cartridge wherein the needle(s) are protected by a needle guard which prevents the user from needle stick injuries and also prevents the needles from being damaged.
