  • Patent number: 4418517
Abstract: An actuating mechanism for the transport lock on a crop harvesting machine having a pivotally movable tongue mounted to the frame of the harvesting machine, commonly referred to as a pivot-tongue windrower, is disclosed wherein a first spring is compressible to exert a biasing force on a locking pin to urge the pin through suitable aligned apertures in the base of the tongue and in the frame of the machine to automatically extend the locking pin through the apertures when they become aligned due to manipulation of the pivotal movement of the tongue by the operator at a location remote from the locking pin. A second spring is compressible to exert a biasing force on the locking pin to urge the locking pin into an unlocked position, withdrawn from the hole in the frame, so that the tongue is free to pivotally move relative to the frame. The second spring is operable to automatically compress the first spring when the locking pin is moved to the unlocked position.

  • Patent number: 4418516
Abstract: A transport lock actuating mechanism for a crop harvesting machine having a pivotally moveable tongue mounted to the frame of the harvesting machine, commonly referred to as a pivot-tongue windrower, is disclosed wherein a single spring is compressed to exert a biasing force on a locking pin to urge the pin through suitable aligned apertures in the base of the tongue and in the frame of the machine to automatically extend the locking pin through the apertures when they become aligned due to manipulation of the pivotal movement of the tongue by the operator at a location remote from the locking pin. The transport lock actuating mechanism is alternatively operable to exert a biasing force on the locking pin to urge the locking pin into a position withdrawn from the apertures so that the machine can be moved from a transport position to an operating position.

  • Patent number: 4332261
Abstract: A combine has an unloading tube containing an auger, which tube is moveable between a retracted position and an unloading position. Movement is controlled by the operator from the operator's platform by a hydraulic system. The system includes an actuator cooperating with a valve to control a hydraulic cylinder. The cylinder is interconnected to the tube causing movement thereto.

  • Patent number: 4241566
Abstract: In a crop harvesting and threshing machine having an internal combustion engine operatively connected via an electrical circuit to a starter motor, a grain storage tank, an unloading auger movably mounted to an in material flow communication with the storage tank, a hydraulic cylinder operatively connected to the unloading auger to effect the movement of the unloading auger between a first inboard storage position and a second outboard unloading position, a control mechanism connected to the unloading auger between the first inboard position and the second outboard position and movable between first, second and third predetermined positions, the first predetermined position corresponding to the first inboard position and the second predetermined position corresponding to the second outboard position, there is provided a safety switch operatively connected to the electrical circuit and the hydraulic cylinder such that the control mechanism must be in the third predetermined position to permit the flow of elect
