  • Patent number: 6004447
Abstract: This invention relates to an electroforming device and a process used to electroform a metal layer on an inner surface of a female mandrel. The electrolytic solution flows only through an electrolytic solution passageway that defines the inner surface as the walls of the passageway. The mandrel may include more than one electrolytic solution passageway, or multiple mandrels may be used in a sequential order to mass produce the electroforms.

  • Patent number: 5960556
Abstract: An improved system is disclosed drying interior layers of sheathing by reducing moisture in narrow wall spaces, particularly between layers of sheathing and/or insulation board. The method involves inserting a special nozzle into a hole drilled into the wall. The nozzle has a depth gauge in the form of a shoulder, calibrated screw threads or other equivalent means to control the placement of a drying substance into the space without damaging the insulation board or blocking the outlet for the drying substance which may be warm, low humidity air.

  • Patent number: 5938443
Abstract: A set of dental impression components that may be used for either pick-up type (open tray) or transfer type (closed tray) impression molding techniques. The components are used with an impression material to fabricate a model at a site in a jawbone where an implant has been osseointegrated. The impression components include an impression coping having an outer surface with its bottom end configured to reside below the gingiva surrounding the implant. A passage exists through the impression coping which accepts a first component for attaching the impression coping to the implant for use in a pick-up type impression application. The passage also accepts a second component for attaching the impression coping to the implant for use in a transfer type impression application.

  • Patent number: 5685715
Abstract: A dental transfer coping for taking a dental impression of a patient's case in which information about the rotational position of an installed implant around its axis is preserved has plural impression interlocking elements arrayed on its outer surface. These elements are rotationally indexed to the ant-rotation device of the implant, and are uniformly arrayed around the coping so that the coping can be removed from the impression and reinstalled in it in many rotational positions without losing the rotational information of the implant.

  • Patent number: 5425826
Abstract: An automated applicator (120) for forming a welded identification sleeve (34) around an elongate object, such as a conductor (16), includes a base (124, 146, 148) defining a receiving surface (186) for receiving the conductor. A reversible line-feed printer (18) for feeding a weldable material strip (24) is positioned adjacent the receiving surface of the base. The printer is capable of selective operation in an advance mode to advance the leading end portion (22) of the material strip toward a first end of the base and transversely past the conductor, and a reverse mode in which the material strip is retracted away from the first end of the base. The applicator includes a guide member (151) mounted on the base and positionable adjacent the receiving surface for guiding the lead portion of the material strip, when advanced by the printer, around the elongate object. When so advanced, the leading end portion of the material strip overlaps the material strip in order to wrap the conductor.

  • Patent number: 5316651
Abstract: An endless metal belt resistant to failure due to stress induced by bending contains an internal stress gradient of radially outward increasing compressive stress which opposes external stress applied to the belt. The belt can be made by an electroforming process. While electroforming, at least one operating parameter selected from bath temperature, current density, agitation, and stress reducer concentration is adjusted to cause the internal stress to gradually increase, compressively, from the radially inner surface of the belt to the radially outer surface of the belt. The internal stress preferably increases at a substantially constant rate and may range from about 160,000 psi tensile at the inner surface to about 120,000 psi compressive at the outer surface.

  • Patent number: 5287046
Abstract: A method of operating bridge circuit for control of an inductive load is disclosed. The bridge circuit has a pair of input terminals for connection across a power source and a pair of output terminals for connection across the inductive load. Each arm of the bridge includes a transistor switch connecting an input terminal with an output terminal. Clamp circuits are connected to each pair of input and output terminals, taking inputs therefrom and responding to a transition through a predetermined voltage differential between the terminals for driving the transistor switch connecting the output terminal to the remaining input terminal, thereby limiting the output terminal to a predetermined voltage level.
