  • Patent number: 9592320
Abstract: Degradable bioprostheses made of collagen-based material having amine-based and ester-based crosslinks are provided, as are methods for their formation and use. Some embodiments of the present invention are directed towards a method of controlling the ratio of amine-based crosslinks to ester-based crosslinks within a collagen-based material to provide a tailorably crosslinked collagen-based material. Some embodiments provide a method of making a degradable bioprosthesis involving controlling crosslinking to afford a degradable bioprosthesis that is partially crosslinked. By controlling the ratio of amine-based to ester-based crosslinks, by controlling the level of crosslinking, or by controlling both of these features, degradable bioprostheses with tailored degradation rates can be synthesized. Some embodiments of degradable bioprostheses have degradation rates that are tailored to allow their use in particular medical applications.

  • Patent number: 9579194
Abstract: A method and device for reducing paravalvular leakage upon implantation of a replacement heart valve is provided. The valve assembly includes a tissue or bioprosthetic heart valve attached to an anchoring structure. The anchoring structure includes an inlet rim that is substantially C-shaped in cross section to form a concave landing zone. The anchoring structure self-seats when implanted in the sinus of a patient with the proximal and distal ends of the C-shaped inlet rim pushed against the aorta to effectively prevent paravalvular leakage.

  • Patent number: 9453917
Abstract: A method, non-transitory computer readable medium and timing computing device for subnanosecond time synchronization. A difference between synchronized measurements of one of a plurality of satellite signals from a reference receiver and another receiver for each of N values within a cycle is determined. A clock bias error is calculated for each of the N values. The calculated clock bias errors are stored in a vector over time for each of the N values, with one of the vectors for each of the N values. A trajectory of the vectors over time is determined. The one of the vectors with a best convergence over time is selected. A timing signal is adjusted based on the N value for the selected one of the vectors with the best convergence over time.

  • Patent number: 9426976
Abstract: A snare system includes a trap body including an aperture, a trigger plate assembly disposed within the trap body such that the trigger plate assembly is accessible through the aperture, a snare assembly placeable about the trap body, and at least one snare release assembly operatively linked with the trap body. The trigger plate assembly is movable between an armed position and an activated position. The snare release assembly normally biases the trigger plate assembly into the armed position. Furthermore, the snare release assembly disengages the snare assembly from the trap body when the trigger plate assembly moves from the armed position to the activated position. Upon disengagement from the trap body, the snare assembly moves to capture an animal's limb.

  • Patent number: 9423803
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and apparatus adapted to control a temperature of a process fluid in an instrument. In one aspect, the systems and apparatus are adapted to control fluid temperature provided to a feed tank. The feed tank may feed a metering system and metering line of an instrument such as a clinical analyzer. The fluid temperature control system includes a process fluid inflow, a process fluid outflow, a first fluid path fluidly coupled to the process fluid inflow and outflow, and at least one heat exchanger thermally coupled to the first fluid path, wherein the heat exchanger is adapted to extract heat for at least one heat-generating component of the instrument. Controlling a temperature of the process fluid at the feed tank improves metering accuracy. Methods of operating the system are provided, as are other aspects.
