  • Patent number: 8683961
Abstract: A fluid system for an intercooler has a fill level defining a maximum volume of liquid in the fluid system, a main fluid circuit and a secondary fluid volume. The main fluid circuit includes the intercooler, and one or more passages through which fluid is circulated with operation of the engine, and at least a portion of the main fluid circuit is located above the fill level. The secondary fluid volume has at least a portion located below the fill level that communicates with the main fluid circuit to receive liquid from the main fluid circuit at least when the engine is not operating to drain at least some of the liquid from the portion of the main fluid circuit that is located above the fill level. This reduces the volume of liquid that remains above the fill level when the engine is not operating.

  • Patent number: 8591635
Abstract: A separator may include a body, an inlet portion, and an outlet conduit. The body may include a conical interior surface defining a conical cavity. The cavity may have a first outlet at a tip of the body. The inlet portion may be connected to the body and may include an outer surface, a cylindrical inner surface, and a first inlet passage extending between the outer surface and the inner surface. The inner surface may be defined by the longitudinal axis. The first inlet passage may be positioned relative to the inner surface such that a fluid flow through the first inlet passage is generally tangent to the inner surface. The outlet conduit may extend through the inlet portion and into the cavity. The outlet conduit may include a second inlet passage disposed inside of the cavity and a second outlet disposed outside of the body and the inlet portion.

  • Publication number: 20130152559
Abstract: An exhaust system for a vehicle may include a tailpipe and a collar. The tailpipe may be adapted to receive exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine and may include an outlet. The collar may include an inner surface, an outer surface, an air-inlet, and an air-outlet. The inner surface may be radially spaced apart from the tailpipe and may at least partially surround the outlet of the tailpipe. The inner and outer surfaces may be shaped to form a profile that causes a first air-flow to accelerate upon flowing between the inner surface and the tailpipe to a first velocity that is faster than a second velocity of a second air-flow. The second air-flow may be flowing adjacent the outer surface and radially outward relative to the outer surface.

  • Publication number: 20110204051
Abstract: A storage container system including a plurality of containers of various sizes and having interlocking features for minimizing shipping and storage space for the containers. Each container has an open interior, a top surface, a bottom surface, a front surface, a rear surface, and two side surfaces. A closure device is disposed on the top surface of the container for allowing access to the open interior of the container, and the bottom surface defines a bottom indent pocket for interlocking with the closure device of another container. A handle is disposed on the front surface of the container, and the rear surface defines a rear indent pocket for interlocking with the handle of another container.

  • Patent number: 4969793
Abstract: A power-operated lift, adapted to be mounted in a vehicle trunk has linkage means for raising a load-supporting platform in a vertical direction. The platform can be manually moved in a horizontal direction to remove the load from the trunk. The platform can be pivoted about the frame to provide access to a wheel well beneath the lift. A reversible motor is connected to the linkage for either raising or lowering the platform with respect to the trunk floor.

  • Patent number: 4645106
Abstract: A garment carrier for use in an automobile or similar vehicle having a first or closed position wherein the garment carrier is concealed by the interior molding of the vehicle and a second or open position wherein the garment carrier can support a garment thereon. The garment carrier has two elongated members each having adjacent end portions and recessed regions. The adjacent end of one elongated member is receivable by the recessed member on the other elongated member with both the adjacent ends and the recessed regions being uniquely constructed to retain the elongated member in the open position.
