Abstract: The present invention relates to a computer-implemented method for receiving user input. The method comprises, at a device with a touch screen display: displaying an input range; displaying a virtually moveable indicator defining a value within the range; detecting a touch event at the touch screen display comprising user movement; and in response to the touch event: moving the indicator to modify the value within the range at a first constant speed when the speed of the user movement is above a threshold; and moving the indicator to modify the value within the range at a second lower constant speed when the speed of the user movement is below the threshold.
