    Abstract: Disclosed is a bushing (12) for guiding a rotating member such as a drill (10) into a workpiece (16). Scored in the interior wall of the bushing bore is a groove (18) in the form of a counterclockwise helix having size and slope characteristics that provide effective removal of the shavings or "chips" from the interior portion of the bushing bore as the drill cuts into the workpiece.
