  • Publication number: 20220331552
Abstract: The present teachings provide a catheter shaft design and configuration for use in the delivering and deploying a medical device, and aspiration removal of occlusion. Specifically, one aspect of the present teachings provides a catheter shaft design having a four-layer construction, an ultra-thin inner layer, a first coil middle layer, and a second braid middle layer, and an outer jacket layer. The first coil middle layer of the catheter shaft is made of a flat wire with width to thickness ratio of at least 2:1. The outer jacket layer of the catheter shaft is made of three different material with a soft durometer forming the distal portion of the outer jacket, a medium durometer material forming the middle/transitional portion of the outer jacket, and a stronger durometer material forming the proximal portion of the outer jacket.

  • Publication number: 20220304835
Abstract: An aneurysm embolization device can include a body having a single, continuous piece of material that is shape set into a plurality of distinct structural components. For example, the device can have an expandable component and an atraumatic tip portion extending therefrom. Further, the tip portion can be configured to enable the device to be implanted within the aneurysm while tending to mitigate risk of puncturing the aneurysm dome or otherwise assist in framing the aneurysm in advance of placement of additional embolic material.

  • Publication number: 20210353446
Abstract: The present teachings provide a medical system for delivering and deploying a medical implant, and the method of using thereof. Specifically, one aspect of the present teachings provides a medical system having an implant with an engagement loop, and a delivery system having an engagement wire and an interface. During implant delivery, the engagement wire engages the engagement loop of the implant. The engagement wire further interacts with the interface in order to prevent unintended disengagement of the engagement loop from the engagement wire. Certain embodiment of the present teaching also includes an implant release control mechanism fixedly attaching to a proximal end of the engagement wire. During implant delivery, the implant release control mechanism attaches the proximal end of the delivery system. During implant deployment, the implant release control mechanism detaches the proximal end of the delivery system.

Abstract: The present teachings provide a medical system for delivering and deploying a medical implant, and the method of using thereof. Specifically, one aspect of the present teachings provides a medical system having an implant with an engagement loop, and a delivery system having an engagement wire and an engagement mechanism. During implant delivery, the engagement wire engages the engagement loop of the implant. The engagement wire further interacts with the engagement mechanism in order to prevent unintended disengagement of the engagement loop from the engagement wire. The present teaching also provide an implant release mechanism that is configured to break away from the implant pusher shaft. Specially, one aspect of the present teaching provides that the implant release mechanism being of one unit with the implant pusher shaft. To release the implant, a clinician simply breaks away the implant release mechanism from the rest of the implant delivery system.

  • Publication number: 20210045761
Abstract: The present teachings provide devices and methods of engaging, capturing, and retrieving emboli. Specifically, one aspect of the present teachings provides a device comprising a generally cylindrical body, with its proximal ends joining to a delivery system and a plurality of cells forming its luminal surface. The cylindrical body is configured to axially rotate as it radially expands. Another aspect of the present teachings provides a device comprising two elongated bodies one disposed within the other. As the device expands radially, both elongated bodies are configured to axially rotate independently.

  • Publication number: 20200297364
Abstract: The present teachings provide devices and methods of engaging, capturing, and retrieving emboli. Specifically, one aspect of the present teachings provide a device comprising a generally cylindrical stent body, and a distal net. The stent body is configured to engage and capture emboli, while the distal net is configured to restrict blood flow, and capture embolic debris. Certain embodiments of the present teachings also provides devices and methods of engaging clots while better assist aspiration. Another aspect of the present teachings provide methods of use thereof to percutaneously remove blood clots with minimum risks.

  • Publication number: 20190269411
Abstract: An implant can include a single- or dual-layer braided body having a variable porosity. In a dual-layer body, first and second longitudinal sections, having respective first and second porosities, can be overlapped such that the first and second porosities overlap each other. The dual-layer construction can cumulatively provide a third porosity at a distal portion and a fourth porosity at a proximal portion. The third and fourth porosities can each be greater than each of the first and second porosities.
