  • Patent number: 5832511
Abstract: A workgroup organized network manager for controlling the operation of individual workstations within a computer network. The workgroup organized network manager organizes workstations into workgroups and controls the distribution of information to each of the workstations within a defined workgroup. The tasks each workstation performs are defined by a specification consisting of programs. A library of programs is maintained on a host workstation designated as a controlling workstation within the workgroup. The host workstation keeps track of activity occurring on the individual workstations within the workgroup. A file maintenance and inventory system compares the attributes of files, directories, and software located on the workstation to check for discrepancies between files, directories, or software intended to be identical and for locating missing or extra files, directories, and software.

  • Patent number: 5189324
Abstract: The present invention provides an improved electric drum brake (10). The electric drum brake (10) utilizes vibration absorbing mount (27) for positioning an electro-magnet (24) on the tang (22) of an actuating lever (21). The vibration absorbing mount (27) prevents metal-to-metal contact between the tang (22) and the electromagnet (24) and eliminates or greatly reduces road vibrations.

  • Patent number: 4593424
Abstract: A ramp/dock/loader apparatus comprising a ramp section pivotally secured in the proximity of a materials storage area and movable between a lowermost substantially horizontally disposed position to an uppermost substantially vertical position, a dock or platform section pivotally secured to the outer edge of the ramp section and pivotal simultaneously therewith but in an opposite direction whereby the platform section remains in a substantially horizontal orientation during angular movement of the ramp section, and fluid cylinder apparatus operably connected with the ramp section for effecting the pivotal movement thereof.

  • Patent number: 4190130
Abstract: A dual vehicular steering system with a primary system for normal operation and a secondary system for emergency operation triggered by pressure sensitive switching and valving means. Both systems have in common a pair of single rod hydraulic steering cylinders with each cylinder being connected to a steerable wheel of the vehicle, a vehicular engine and hydraulic fluid stored in a tank. Cylinder shuttle valves connected to each steering cylinder function as gate devices to separate the primary steering system from the secondary system. The primary system includes a main pump driven by the engine, a high pressure filter, a priority flow divider to divert fluid in excess of an acceptable flow level, a control valve, an integrated valve package to proportionately regulate fluid flow between the cylinders, and means to direct fluid from the tank to the pump, through the filter, through the priority flow divider, through the control valve, through the integrated valve package and to the steering cylinders.

  • Patent number: 4117865
Abstract: An air over oil high pressure modulating valve comprising dual acting valve members wherein one of said valves is responsive to air pressure acting thereon for opening the other of said valves for directing controlled hydraulic fluid pressure to a brake apparatus, or the like. Upon the application of pneumatic pressure against the first valve member, the second valve member is opened for releasing hydraulic fluid pressure to the brake apparatus for actuation thereof. Upon the release of pneumatic pressure from the first valve member, the second valve member is maintained in a closed position for retaining the hydraulic fluid in a fluid chamber which is in communication with a fluid accumulator. When the pneumatic pressure acting on the first valve is only partially released, the first valve opens communication between the open second valve and the fluid accumulator for reducing the fluid pressure at the brake apparatus.
