  • Publication number: 20120252918
Abstract: An insulative and relatively low-weight aggregate building material comprising an expanded plastic polymer and a method of producing the material are provided. The building material resists freeze-thaw damage and is sufficiently strong to be used in most building applications.
    Type: Application
    Filed: March 30, 2011
    Publication date: October 4, 2012
    Inventor: Earl M. Stenger
  • Patent number: 7524136
Abstract: A method and composition of matter used to reduce icing of roads, bridges, and overpasses where the wearing course of the paved structure contains expanded plastic polymer. The expanded plastic polymer functions as insulation and reduces the likelihood that the wearing course of the structure will freeze over, thereby lessening the danger drivers face during colder months.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6652269
Abstract: A wind resistant candle having a base formed of a substance that, when sufficiently heated, produces a vapor. The base includes a wick that absorbs small amounts of a liquid form of the base substance. The wick is formed from a bundle of fibers that transform the substance of the base into a vapor and ignite the vapor when the fibers are sufficiently heated. At least one of the wick fibers is formed of a pyrophoric material.
