  • Patent number: 4856394
Abstract: The invention includes a power operated circular type hand saw having a motor disposed within a housing, a rotating circular sawblade driven by the motor, and a work supporting shoe which is pivotally attached to the housing and moveable relative to the housing to adjust the depth to which the saw blade extends below the shoe. The motor supporting housing includes a locking arrangement and a depth limiting stop plate moveable relative to the housing, the stop plate having a depth limiting ear and a clasp, the clasp is adapted to lock the stop plate in a wide range of depth limiting positions.

  • Patent number: 4628605
Abstract: A bayonet-type saw having adjustable motor speed and orbital blade motion controls. A baffled passageway for directing air at the cutting zone is provided. An improved blade guide structure having a neck portion and two parallel spaced apart arms with a main roller bearing therebetween and saw blade side supporting nip rollers is included.

  • Patent number: 4106165
Abstract: An upright vacuum cleaner having an elongated handle and a cord reel biased to retract the electrical cord has a cord guiding and locking device comprising a housing having two internal cavities open at both the top and bottom thereof and opening into each other. One of the cavities is adapted to clamp onto the handle above the cord reel, and the other cavity includes a locking member pivotably mounted in an opening formed in a wall thereof. The locking member has a pair of legs disposed angularly to one another, one leg has a through slot to allow the cord to pass therethrough when the plane of the slot is substantially perpendicular to the cord but is sized to frictionally grip the cord when the plane of the slot is not substantially perpendicular thereto. The other leg is accessible at the opening for depression by an operator and a stop member restrains the first leg and the slot to substantial perpendicularity when the cord is being extended from the reel and when the second leg is depressed.

  • Patent number: 4008505
Abstract: An adaptor for converting an upright vacuum cleaner for use as an above-the-floor cleaner. The adaptor includes an open ended housing which is removably fitted over the front of the cleaner chassis and includes an air chamber communicating the cleaner nozzle opening with one extremity of a hose. The adaptor includes yieldable gripping members for engagement with the upper surface of the cleaner chassis. It also includes camming tabs and resilient fingers spaced apart across the outlet opening of the air chamber for entry into the cleaner nozzle to secure the adaptor laterally while the gripping members draw the adaptor tightly against the cleaner nozzle.

  • Patent number: 3966444
Abstract: A lightweight vacuum cleaner having a hollow body with an intake nozzle and a nozzle support tube at one end, a suction creating means removably latched at the other end, and a filter bag assembly positioned in a compartment therebetween. The filter bag assembly includes a sealing and support plate having an integral guide tube for receiving the nozzle support tube through one end and a substantially U-shaped frame. An air permeable filter bag having a neck and a tubular body communicating with the interior of a main bag body is positioned between the legs of the U-shaped frame with the tubular neck removably secured about the guide tube.
