Abstract: It is disclosed a foam mattress having an adjustable mattress core for adjusting and customizing its firmness. The foam mattress has a foam base having an upper surface defining a top recess; and a plurality of foam inserts each configured to be disposed and assembled into the top recess to fill the top recess and form the mattress core with a continued upper surface of the mattress. The inserts are provided with at least two different firmness of the foam, preferably with three different firmness of the foam selected from firm, medium and soft, producing as such an inexpensive, novel consumer-adjustable mattress in which the consumer can change the firmness of the entire mattress and/or the firmness on either side of the bed to accommodate each sleeper and/or the firmness under certain “body zones” within the mattress for their own personalized comfort preference and to reduce tossing and turning.

Abstract: It is disclosed foam mattresses or toppers, and methods of using them, comprising a top surface defining lateral deflective areas thanks to structural modifications of the foam comprising a plurality of slots, grooves, voids or channels. The invention (mattresses, toppers or methods) allows controlling postural alignment while providing ultra-low mattress-body interface pressures for all body areas regardless of recumbent position. The method comprises the step of providing into a core section of the mattress a plurality of structural modifications comprising slots, and/or voids, to form transversal deflective areas into the mattress. The invention is preferably achieved by CNC (Computer Numerical Control) cutting the structural modifications (channels, slots and voids) into the mattress foam which support each area of the body. It is also disclosed mattresses or toppers in which foam inserts are kept or removed from the channels to modulate the deflections on one or both sides of the mattress.

Abstract: A system and method for producing a personal golf lesson videotape from a visual recording of a person's golf swing and a partially prerecorded instructional golf lesson videotape. The partially prerecorded golf lesson videotape has gaps in predetermined locations into which are inserted the full motion video of the person's golf swing and selected still frames. The system contains two cameras for recording a player's golf swing from the back and side, a computer connected to the cameras for digitally capturing and storing the recorded golf swing, and a computer-controlled video recording device for copying the selected video and still frames of the recorded golf swing into the gaps of the prerecorded videotape golf lesson. The still frames are selected to match the player's position to the position of the professional golfer in corresponding still frames so that a split screen, side-by-side view can be produced showing the player's and professional's positions at various points along a golf swing.
