  • Patent number: 8316750
Abstract: An apparatus and method for launching incendiary projectiles is provided. The apparatus includes a support adapted to being mounted to a vehicle, a pneumatic launcher connected to the support and operable to launch a projectile that has been delivered to the launcher, a gas delivery system operable to deliver a volume of pressurized gas to the launcher for launching the projectile, a projectile delivery system operable to deliver projectiles to the launcher, an injector cooperating operable to receive projectiles from the projectile delivery system and to inject the projectiles with an amount of reactant suitable to produce a delayed exothermic reaction with the incendiary material to prime the projectile, and thereafter convey the primed projectile to the launcher; and a controller operable to operable to regulate the launching of the projectiles.

  • Publication number: 20060254159
Abstract: A portable collapsible shelter trailer comprising of a container having four doors on each side that are hinged along the bottom, and which may be folded to a horizontal position to yield a portable shelter having rigid frame and flexible fabric sections. The deployment of the fabric shelter after the doors are deployed is accomplished by air actuated cylinders which are mounted to each of the doors, and are controlled from a control panel by means of air valves that regulate the flow of compressed air into the cylinders to impart tension to the fabric shelter.

  • Patent number: 7063018
Abstract: A system for determining the location of an edge of a sheet of media for alignment purposes utilizes a beam of light directed at the media surface to produce a reflected light beam. The reflected light beam intensity varies in response to the reflectivity of the surface on which it impinges and the beam position shifts in accordance with the datum of the surface at which the reflected beam is originated. By monitoring both intensity and positional information of the reflected beam as it is scanned across the media edge, the edge location can be determined using a weighted combination of the intensity and positional information.

  • Patent number: 6753664
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, the control over a high- speed non-linear actuator is improved by linearizing the relationship between the actuating impetus and the feedback control signal via a method that employs the separate and concurrent control of the static and dynamic characteristics of the device without resorting to the use of force-feedback or field-strength feedback. The resonant frequency of the plunger of the actuator is manipulated during operation such as to maintain it at a substantially fixed optimal value. The method is particularly advantageous in devices where space is at a premium and force-feedback or field-strength feedback mechanisms are difficult to implement.
