  • Publication number: 20100252214
Abstract: A vertically elongate and oriented container (1) of wire cloth material contains a vertically oriented nozzle assembly (2), which sprays a fiber suspension against the inner wall of the container. The nozzle assembly is revolved around the axis of the container and is displaced backwards and forwards vertically so that the suspension sprays, which in the direction radially outward widen against the shell wall of the container (1) afford a cleaning effect in respect of deposited fibers on the inner wall of the container (1) at the same time as the liquid of the suspension efficiently is separated through the container wall in order to then be collected in a housing (9) surrounding the container (1).

  • Publication number: 20100200520
Abstract: A fiber suspension is dewatered by being introduced from above into a container formed of a wider endless flexible wire band and a more slender endless flexible wire band, which mutually are lap joined at adjacent border parts, which carry a respective part of a coupling, the wider band being reshaped to a C-shape, by folding its border parts over one of the main surfaces, and bringing them into overlapping contact with the overlapping border parts of the extended more slender band. The screening pipe is established along a common longitudinal section of the tracks of the two wire bands, the lower end part of the screening container being kept substantially sealed, and the fiber suspension being introduced by elevated pressure to a centrally placed nozzle assembly with spray nozzles spaced-apart around the nozzle assembly, toward the screening pipe's inside.

  • Patent number: 6221265
Abstract: Methods for the concentration of a dilute material such as a fiber suspension are disclosed including enclosing the dilute material between a first straining belt and a second straining belt both moving through endless paths, and in which the width of the first straining belt is greater than the width of the second straining belt, and the method includes causing the longitudinal edges of the first straining belt to overlap the longitudinal edges of the second straining belt in an initial concentration stage, unfolding the longitudinal edges of the first straining belt and then further compressing the concentrated layer produced against the first straining belt in a further concentration stage. Apparatus for carrying out this method is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5725783
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for concentrating a liquid suspension of solid particles are disclosed including providing a screening web moving in an endless path, folding the screening web into a tubular configuration at a first location along that path, unfolding the screening web from that tubular configuration at a second location along that path, introducing the liquid suspension into the tubular configuration of the screening web proximate to the first location so that liquid can pass outwardly through the tubular configuration of the screening web and a concentrate of the solid particles can be formed therein, and removing the concentrate from the screening web proximate to the second location.

  • Patent number: 5199476
Abstract: For the purpose of faciliating the impregnation of wood chips, the chips are compressed between two compression devices (9) which act on the mutually opposing flat sides of the chips (2). As the chips are compressed, the chips (2) are undulated or curved in at least one direction to produce a wave shape such that when the chips are seen in section at right angles to the waves, the top and the bottom sides (15, 16) of the wave crests will both be located on one side of a central plane (19) which passes through respective chips between the bottom sides (16) of the wave crests and the top sides (17) of the wave troughs, whereas the top and bottom sides (17, 18) of the wave troughs will both be located on the other side of the central plane (19).

  • Patent number: 5019061
Abstract: A tampon comprises a compacted tampon blank, which in turn is formed by winding a liquid-permeable strip and a string of absorbent material placed thereon to a roll and inserting strip-parts which project from the sides of the string, inwardly of the innermost turn or winding of the roll. In the process of manufacturing the tampon, the strip carrying the string can be wound around a first, tubular mandrel, and one strip-part can be inserted into the mandrel through one open mandrel-end located adjacent the inner edge of the strip-part. A second tubular mandrel is then inserted through the open end of the first mandrel and the first mandrel then withdrawn. With the second mandrel surrounded by the first, inserted strip-part and located with an open end adjacent the inner edge of the other strip-part, the other strip-part is inserted into the second mandrel, which is then withdrawn from the thus formed tampon blank, which is thereafter compacted or compressed.

  • Patent number: 4955217
Abstract: A wire coiling arrangement includes a rotatable wire coiling mandrel (34) which incorporates a wire receiving slot (33) which extends axially rearwardly from a forward end of the mandrel and which has a slot mouth or entrance (40) facing towards the front end of the mandrel. A coil ejection arrangement (43-46) is arranged for movement along the mandrel (34), between a withdrawn wire coiling position and a forwardly located coil ejection position, such as to push a coil wound on the mandrel axially therefrom. The coil ejection arrangement also carries wire guides (42) which in one setting position of the ejection arragement form a continuation of the slot mouth (40) which widens outwardly from the forward end of the mandrel.

  • Patent number: 4831713
Abstract: An arrangement for removing and separating into pieces wrapping wire (3) encircling a bale (2) or like package in individual, closed loops includes a first wire clipping device (6) for severing the wire in each separate loop at a location (29), to form a wire length; a second wire clipping device (14, 16, 17) for dividing the wire length into smaller pieces; and feed means (10, 12'16, 18) for advancing the wire length to the second wire clipping device. The latter device (14, 16, 17) comprises at least one cutting bit (16) projecting radially outwards from a motor-driven rotor (14) and whose cutting edge generates a cylindrical surface, and further comprises a stationary counter cutting bit (17). The feed means includes a part-cylindrical guide surface (18) which co-operates with the cutting edge to advance a wire length introduced between the guide surface and the rotor (14) to the counter cutting bit.
