  • Patent number: 5499883
Abstract: A stretcher or crossrib (1) for seating furniture, such as chairs, and for tables has four rib parts (4) of solid wood, preferably beech wood, in the form of flat pieces arranged at an angle to one another. Their butt ends (5) are interconnected by tenons (6) into a cross with different spacing angles .alpha., .beta. and are glued. A connecting element 7 is used to hold the butt ends (5) of the four rib parts (4) form-fittingly. Connecting element (7) is composed of a top part (8) and a bottom part (9). Top part (8) and bottom part (9) of connecting element (7) hold butt ends (5) of rib parts (4) in corresponding holes (10) form-fittingly and are screwed to rib parts (4). Top part (8) and bottom part (9) of connecting element (7) can be gussets.

  • Patent number: 4779925
Abstract: In the swivel chair, a seat frame and a backrest frame are joined by articulation and movable with a rocking motion synchronously against spring force, and the tilt of seat and backrest can be locked in several positions. The entire mechanical system for the tripping, adjustment, and locking of the tilt of seat frame and backrest frame, for triggering the height adjustment, and for setting the rocking spring force is accommodated in a supporting tube that is bent at an obtuse angle. This supporting tube surrounds in a rotatable and displaceable fashion a base tube at the lower end, this base tube being seated on a compound base and accommodating the gas-pressure spring, and is connected at the upper end with a horizontal transverse tube extending perpendicularly to the supporting tube, this transverse tube housing the swivel axles of the seat frame as well as of the backrest frame.

  • Patent number: 4561622
Abstract: A folding table catch (1) with pivotable table leg trestles (2) below the table place (21) and with a locking device under spring tension for locking the erected table leg trestles, displays an automatically locking, releaseable locking device (8) in both its erected and its folded position, displaying at each of both ends of a connecting rod (9) pivoted parallel to the swivel axis of the table leg trestle (2), a cam plate (10) with locking surfaces for a locking cam attached to a round pipe (5) which forms the swivel axis of the table leg trestle (2). Between at least one of the cam plates (10) and its associated locking cam, a torsion spring surrounding the round pipe (5) is employed, which is prestressed in the one direction of rotation in the folded position of the associated table leg trestle (2) and in the other direction of rotation when in the folded position of the table leg trestle (2) and is unstressed when in an intermediate position.
