  • Patent number: 7100998
Abstract: A method and a device for controlling wheel brakes of a vehicle, in which braking force is maintained and/or built up in at least one operating state at at least one wheel of the vehicle irrespective of the extent of pedal actuation. Such an operating state is present when the slope of the road points in the direction of the vehicle's future direction of travel and/or when the parking brake is engaged.

  • Publication number: 20060047399
Abstract: A method for setting a desired longitudinal deceleration or longitudinal acceleration in a vehicle, in which—at vehicle longitudinal speeds above a limiting value, a first mode is used and—at vehicle longitudinal speeds below the limiting value, a second mode is used.

  • Patent number: 6439675
Abstract: Proposed are a method and a device for controlling a braking system of a vehicle, braking force being maintained in at least one operating state at least one wheel of the vehicle while the braking pedal is actuated, independently of the degree of the pedal actuation. In this context, different conditions are provided jointly or alternatively for activating or deactivating the function.

  • Patent number: 6428120
Abstract: A method and a device is described for controlling a vehicle. The method and device maintain a braking force of at least one wheel independent of a degree of actuation of a brake pedal at least when the vehicle is detected to be at a standstill. When a reduction condition exists, the braking force is reduced whereas, in response to a detected skidding of the vehicle, the braking force is reduced independently of the reduction condition. The method and device also provide measures for detection of a skidding of the vehicle and a danger of skidding.

  • Patent number: 6318818
Abstract: A method of compensating for a temperature dependence of a coil resistance of at least one second solenoid valve of a hydraulic unit in a vehicle dynamics control is described. The method includes the following steps: determining a first temperature of a coil of at least one first solenoid valve of the hydraulic unit, in particular a reversing valve; determining a second temperature of the hydraulic unit, based on the first temperature, determining a third temperature of the coil of the second solenoid valve, based on the second temperature of the hydraulic unit, taking into account a temperature model of the coil of the second solenoid valve, based on the heat capacity, heat input, and heat dissipation of the coil of the second solenoid valve and/or the hydraulic unit; and compensating for the temperature dependence of the coil resistance of the at least one second solenoid valve, based on the third temperature.

  • Patent number: 5752748
Abstract: A central control module generates nominal values for braking based on a pedal input value form a pedal sensor which detects actuation of the brake pedal by the driver, and sensor signals representing wheel speeds. First and second brake control modules transmit sensor signals to the central module, receive nominal values from the central module, and transmit nominal values to the actuators. The first brake control module receives the pedal input value from the pedal sensor directly, and calculates the nominal values as a function of the pedal input value when the central module has failed.

  • Patent number: 5388669
Abstract: A disk brake having an electromagnetic friction clutch that can be brought into controllable frictional engagement with a brake disk. The friction clutch can act on a device for generating hydraulic pressure independent of the direction of rotation, and this pressure can act upon a clamping device for operating friction linings. To press the friction linings against the brake disk, energy is taken from the rotating vehicle wheel by means of the friction clutch and metered to the clamping device with pressure fluid as the energy carrier. The friction brake can be used in passenger cars, for example.

  • Patent number: 5322146
Abstract: A disk brake has an electromagnetic friction clutch that is brought into controllable frictional engagement with a brake disk. The friction clutch is in form-fitting rotational engagement with a piston of a clamping device for the friction linings associated with the brake disk, the piston is axially displaceable by a key driver that is independent of the direction of rotation. To press the friction linings against the brake disk, energy is provided by the rotating vehicle wheel by the friction clutch and metered to the clamping device. The friction brake can be used in passenger cars, for example.
