Abstract: The present invention relates to oxidatively drying binders containing ester groups and urethane groups, obtainable by the reaction of(A) about 60 to 98% by weight of esters having an oil length of about 20 to 75% by weight and an OH number of about 20 to 150 selected from(i) partial esters of polyhydric alcohols and long-chain unsaturated fatty acids and/or(ii) polyesters of polyhydric alcohols, long-chain unsaturated fatty acids and polycarboxylic acidswith(B) about 2 to 40% by weight of a polyisocyanate having the following structure ##STR1## wherein R is a C.sub.6 -C.sub.18, preferably a C.sub.8 -C.sub.15 and more preferably a C.sub.10 -C.sub.13 alkyl radical.

Abstract: An improved lacquer system composition based on alkyl resins and/or oil-free polyesters contains as a reactive diluent the esterification product of(A) polyols containing an average on average at least 3 hydroxyl groups per molecule and, per hydroxyl group, an average of 0.5 to 15, but in total no more than an average of 20 ether groups per molecule and(B) 0.05 to 1.0 equivalent, based on hydroxyl groups of A, of C.sub.2 -C.sub.30 monocarboxylic acids,with the proviso that the esterification products of A and B have an acid number of at most 5, a hydroxyl number of from 5 to 800 and, on average, from 0.1 to 5 hydroxyl groups per molecule.

Abstract: Thixotropic urethane alkyd resins which dry under oxidizing conditions, obtainable by reacting mixtures of:A. OH-containing partial esters of polyhydric alcohols and long chain unsaturated fatty acids and/or OH-containing oligoesters of polyhydric alcohols, long chain unsaturated fatty acids and polybasic carboxylic acids;B. OH-containing fatty acid modified dimeric fatty acid polyester amides; withC. diisocyanates.
