  • Patent number: 6786631
Abstract: A mixing and reducing machine with an upward-conveying mixing spiral that rotates around a vertical rotational axle. In order to achieve a more intensive mixing of the mixed product a second mixing spiral is connected in the axial direction after a first mixing spiral, with a transition zone arranged in between. In this way, zones of different axial conveying capacity are connected after each other in the axial direction. The mixing spirals are formed of several mixing blades arranged after each other in the circumferential direction.

  • Patent number: 6685981
Abstract: The invention involves a process and a device for manufacturing a raw liquid confection mixture, whereby sugar containing dry components and liquid components are supplied from out of a dosing device into a mixing device. The mixing device involves a shearing mixer in which the components are stirred intensively by a rotor so that they liquefy due to the frictional heat that results in the process. In the process, only a very small water content is necessary such that dissolving the sugar-containing dry components in water, followed by the subsequent drawing off of water, as was the customary practice until now, is rendered unnecessary.

  • Patent number: 6672754
Abstract: A device for making chewing gum with a mixer, in which gum base is kneaded and mixed with sugar and liquid components, such as glucose flavoring and/or coloring agents. Whereas this has been done until now using mixers that operate essentially in batches, now it is proposed according to the invention to use as a mixer a high-speed shearing mixer that is flowed through in the axial direction, in which many ring-shaped stator parts are arranged projecting radially to the inside on the inner wall of an essentially cylinder-shaped housing, with which the radial outside ends of circumferential mixing blades mesh to form grinding gaps. This device has the advantage that it is small, cost-effective and continuously productive.

  • Publication number: 20030043691
Abstract: The invention involves a mixing device for mixing a base material with a liquid using a vertical feeder shaft for the base material and a mixing chamber which is arranged below the feeder shaft and into which the liquid is supplied and in which a mixing tool can be driven in rotation, whereby in the feeder shaft, a propeller rotating around a vertical axis is provided, in which blade elements extending in the radial direction are provided. In order to not cause any clogging in the feeder shaft at the propeller, it is proposed to keep individual segments blade-free all the way through over the entire height of the propeller parallel to the axis, when the propeller is rotating in the circumference direction. In this way, a homogenization of the supplied base material is also achieved.

  • Publication number: 20020031048
Abstract: A mixing and reducing machine with an upward-conveying mixing spiral that rotates around a vertical rotational axle. In order to achieve a more intensive mixing of the mixed good, it is proposed to connect a second mixing spiral in the axial direction after a first mixing spiral, with a transition zone arranged in between. In this way, zones of different axial conveying capacity are connected after each other in the axial direction. In a preferred embodiment form, the mixing spirals are formed of several mixing blades arranged after each other in the circumferential direction.

  • Patent number: 5945150
Abstract: A process for manufacturing chocolate includes premixing a charge of cocoa paste, sugar, and optionally powdered milk under application of heat, subsequently conveying the charge to a first grinder, and thereafter treating the resulting paste by tumbling in at least one stirring device under temperature control. In this process, removal of the volatile components as well as the reactions of the charge are conducted in a first operation, the paste is then pulverized, and after that the addition of fat and emulsifiers, and the dispersion and the liquefaction of the paste are implemented in a further operation.

  • Patent number: 4848919
Abstract: A pinned mill for a mixer having a mixing mechanism has a motor outside the mixer container and a rotor inside the container and spaced apart from its walls. The rotor is rotationally drivable by the motor and is at least partly surrounded at a tangent by a stator having pins arranged concentrically with the rotor axis, the rotor being arranged inside the pins. The rotor is provided with elements defining a grinding gap with respect to the pins. In order to improved the grind performance without notably increasing the drive power, the rotor elements defining the grinding gap with respect to the stator pins are embodied only by vanes extending approximately radially to the rotor axis. The radially outer ends of the vanes have a cutting edge. The stator pins have an edge associated with the radially outer vane edges. The rotor is also embodied as substantialy open, inside the stator.

  • Patent number: 4413790
Abstract: This concerns a mixer for bulk materials, especially for fibrous suspensions such as cellulose derivatives and substances of similar description, in which a driveable scooper is arranged in a horizontally aligned drum- or trough-shaped container. The scooper consists of a shaft set to run along the container, from which mixing blades protrude. The shaft bears milling rims arranged sloping relative to the shaft. The milling rims are connected immovably to the shaft. The milling rims lie opposite to the milling stators and form milling spaces with these milling stators, which are fitted to the container stationarily.

  • Patent number: 4233676
Abstract: A mixing mechanism for a mixing machine, the mechanism comprising a shaft which is rotatably mounted in a cylindrical or partly cylindrical container of the mixing machine. On the shaft are radially extending arms each of which carries a mixing tool at its outer end. At least some of the arms and their respective mixing tools are each provided with a plate-like extension on the rear side as viewed in the rotational direction of the mixing mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4214376
Abstract: A process and apparatus for the continuous drying and/or granulating of loose material. Loose material is conveyed through a drying/treating horizontal container by the action of a gas stream, the gas conveying force being opposed by a lesser, mechanical force derived from mixing tools within the container.

  • Patent number: 4117223
Abstract: The present invention is related to a new process for producing cellulose C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl ethers by subjecting cellulose to reaction with an alkali metal hydroxide and subjecting the resulting alkali metal salt of cellulose to reaction with an alkyl halide wherein the alkyl group contains 1 to 4 carbon atoms. The new process is characterized by subjecting 1 part by weight of cellulose to reaction with 0.5 to 4 parts by weight of the alkyl halide in a positive mixer having a fast-running mixing appliance and a container with adjustable internal pressure and cooling of the internal container wall, adding the alkali metal hydroxide in a concentrated aqueous solution or in a substantially water-free and finely divided state, and adjusting the pressure in the reaction vessel with cooling in such a way that the temperature of the reaction mixture remains in the range of from 15.degree. to 40.degree. C., and raising the temperature of the reaction mixture after termination of the alkalization to from 50.
