  • Patent number: 6923160
Abstract: The invention relates to a high pressure fuel accumulator for an accumulator injection system in internal injection engines, comprising a base body which is provided with a longitudinal recess which has a plurality of connecting bores emanating therefrom. The inner chamber of the longitudinal recess is essentially cylindrical in shape and has at least one rib shaped section on the inner perimeter of the longitudinal recess into which a connecting bore formed in the longitudinal recess leads.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 5, 2004
Date of Patent: August 2, 2005
    Assignee: Siemens Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Michael Wirkowski, Eckbert Zander
  • Publication number: 20050045152
Abstract: The interior of the drawn, rolled or forged pipe (1) forms a high-pressure reservoir (2) comprising pressure lines (4), which are respectively connected to the reservoir by means of a transversal bore (3). The sealing body (7) of an end connection presses against a bearing surface (8) of the pipe (1) to form a seal by means of a force transmission element (9, 10, 13) that is provided with a thread. To reduce axial installation space and to improve the tensioning conditions, the sealing body (7) and the force transmission element (10, 13, 18) are arranged at least partially parallel to one another in the axial direction.

  • Patent number: 6748923
Abstract: An injection system for an internal combustion engine comprises a valve arrangement (26), connected to an inlet (24) to a high pressure pump (8), which regulates the flow of fuel for lubricating and cooling the high pressure pump (8) and bleeds the injection system. The valve arrangement 926) comprises at least one displaceable actuator and a first and second throttle device (30, 32). The actuator (36) is regulated according to a pressure of the fuel flow between a feed supply pump (6) and the high pressure pump (8), such that a first connection to, the high pressure pump (8) is opened, by means of the first throttle device (30), or the feed (24) to the high pressure pump (8) is interrupted, or a second connection to the high pressure pump (8) is opened, by means of the second throttle device (32). The invention further relates to a method of bleeding and/or regulating said injection system.

  • Patent number: 6293250
Abstract: An apparatus for producing a variable volumetric flow in a fuel feed system includes a high-pressure pump having at least one inlet, at least one cylinder, at least one piston each moveable in a respective cylinder, and a shaft driving the at least one piston. A metering device is disposed in the at least one inlet of the high-pressure pump, is synchronized with the shaft and feeds a variably meterable volume of fuel to the at least one cylinder during each revolution of the shaft. Metering is performed by varying an angle between opening and closure of the at least one inlet.
