  • Patent number: 5930547
Abstract: An apparatus for developing radiation-sensitive, exposed printing forms into printing plates is disclosed. The apparatus has a developer pan in which a developer bath 2 is situated. The individual printing form runs through the developing station of this apparatus in a running-through plane. On both sides of the running-through plane there are a first pair of transport rollers, two brushing rollers with their counter-rollers and a second pair of transport rollers at the end of the developing station. Arranged between the first pair of transport rollers and the first brushing roller with its counter-roller, on the underside of the running-through plane, are guide rollers. A closed vessel, filled with developing solution, is connected via a developer circuit and a pump to the developer bath. • Patent number: 4737811
Abstract: In the developing station of a processing system for printing plates, a counter-roller is offset with respect to the brush roller in the plane of passage of the printing plates by a given distance "a". In another embodiment, the transport rollers are lowered by an amount "b" with respect to the plane of passage which extends horizontally between the gap between the brush roller and the counter-roller.

  • Patent number: 4215926
Abstract: This invention relates to an improvement in the process for conducting ammonia in a developing apparatus for developing diazotype copying material, wherein exhaust air laden with gaseous ammonia and composed of the developer medium escaping from a developing chamber and air, is conducted in at least one absorption vessel countercurrently to water capable of absorbing ammonia; wherein the ammonia water of relatively low concentration thus obtained is conducted in an evaporator countercurrently to a stream of water vapor; and wherein the ammonia gas/water vapor mixture thus obtained is used for preparing the gaseous developer medium; the improvement comprising completely condensing the ammonia gas/water vapor mixture discharged from the evaporator to form ammonia water of a relatively high concentration; storing the ammonia water in an ammonia water supply tank; introducing the ammonia water discharged from the ammonia water supply tank, at a constant rate, into an evaporator which is in direct connection with

  • Patent number: 4135814
Abstract: This invention relates to an improvement in the process for the production of photocopies with two-component diazotype material which cannot be developed by the action of heat alone and which, during continuous passage through a photocopying machine, is first exposed imagewise to light emitted by a mercury lamp and is then exposed, for the purpose of development, to an ammonia/water mixture, in vapor form, in a development chamber, the improvement comprising employing light emitted from a gallium-modified or indium-modified mercury lamp for the imagewise exposure of the diazotype material, and exposing the diazotype material, which has been exposed to light, to an ammonia/water vapor mixture in the development chamber, said mixture in terms of vapor pressure being unsaturated and containing at most 25 per cent by weight of ammonia, at a temperature of about 105 to 120.degree. C and at a predetermined pressure. The invention also relates to an apparatus for performing the process.

  • Patent number: 4109268
Abstract: In a diazo copier, a first developing chamber for developing a diazo material employing an ammonia-containing vaporous developer, a second chamber adjacent an output aperture of the first developing chamber, a source of heat, and a suction device for drawing off developer escaping from the second developing chamber through an output aperture and for removing developer from the diazo material are provided. A rotatably mounted porous hollow roller means forms part of said suction device positioned in said second chamber and a suction duct means is connected to said roller means. A transport means which is not in heat-conducting connection with the source of heat is provided for bringing the copying material in contact with the hollow suction roller means.
