  • Patent number: 8177223
Abstract: A lifting unit and a process for lifting a stack of sheets having at least a first support (20, 120, 220) and at least a second support (22, 122, 222) are described. The first support defines a first con-toured or flat support surface, and the second support defines a second support surface which has a substantially horizontal, flat main surface. In the lifting unit at least one unit is provided for lifting the first and second supports. During operation the supports are lifted such that at least a highest point of the first support is kept elevationally above the second support, the second support is lifted more quickly than the first support, and the substantially horizontal, flat main surface of the second support is kept in its horizontal alignment. The lifting unit is described, in combination with a sheet feeder.

  • Patent number: 8147490
Abstract: A device to establish a connection of portions of a broken bone includes a base body adapted to receive a bone nail. A clamping holder has a receptacle to receive a fixation rod. A bearing element mounts the clamping holder on the base body for spherically displacement. A tensioning rod connection has a tensioning rod on which the base body, the clamping holder and the bearing element are arrangeable in a row for tensioning relative to each other. In a first connection state the tensioning rod connection is released so that the fixation rod and base body are adjustable relative to each other. In a second connection state there is sufficient closing tension in the tensioning rod connection to form a stable non-positive locking connection between the fixation rod and the base body.

  • Publication number: 20120067239
Abstract: A method for turning or laterally shifting a web in a printing machine includes guiding the web successively around four rollers. Roller 2 is rotated with respect to roller 1 by about 90°, so that a strand of the web extending between the first and second rollers performs a first twist by about 90°. Rollers 1 and 3 are substantially parallel so that the strand of the web extending between the second and third rollers is straight. Roller 4 is rotated with respect to roller 3 by about 90°, so that a strand of the web extending between rollers 3 and 4 performs a second twist by about 90°.

  • Publication number: 20120062673
Abstract: A printing machine for printing on a web includes a plurality of guide rollers for guiding the web through a simplex and a duplex path in the printing machine. The duplex path is adjacent and laterally shifted with respect to the simplex path. An apparatus for turning or laterally shifting the web and transfer the web from the simplex path to the duplex path includes four rollers. 90° twists are present between rollers 1 and 2 and between rollers 3 and 4. Rollers 1 and 4 are substantially parallel, and rollers 2 and 3 are substantially parallel. Rollers 1 and 4 are substantially at right angles to rollers 2 and 3.

  • Publication number: 20100271648
Abstract: The invention relates to a printing apparatus and a method for controlling the transport of sheets through a printing apparatus, in particular a digital printing apparatus. The printing apparatus has at least one print module and a transport arrangement defining a direction of transport, arranged for transporting sheets past said at least one print module for printing thereon. In the method for controlling the transport of sheets through the printing apparatus, a print queue is set by assigning images to respective sheets, prior to feeding the respective sheets into the transport arrangement. The sheets are then fed into the transport arrangement, an it is detecting whether a double sheet feeding has occurred.

  • Publication number: 20090299368
Abstract: The invention relates to a fixation device for stably interlinking at least two bone fragments of a broken bone. Said fixation device comprises at least one base for receiving at least one fracture pin and at least one fixation rod. The base and the fixation rod, in a first interlinked state, are released to adjust their relative position, and in a second interlinked state, are figidly interlinked to fixate the adjusted position. A clamping holder received by the base by means of bearings in such a manner that its angle can be adjusted receives a fixation rod. The base, the clamping holder and the bearing are arranged in series in a prestressing bar connection. The clamping holder is configured by a holder which, in an area for adjusting and maintaining the adjusted position, is guided on the base in all directions in space. The clamping holder and at least one bearing element of the bearing through which a prestressing bar extends are positively locked, thereby providing spatial guidance.

  • Publication number: 20080252002
Abstract: The invention relates to a turning device (1) for transporting and turning over sheets (2) of printing material in a printing machine, preferably an electrophotographic printing machine, said device comprising at least two belts (7, 8), which, in particular, consist essentially of a plastic material, each of said belts being deflected as closed loops over respectively at least two deflecting elements (22, 23) and being crossed in order to turn over the respective sheet by approximately 180 degrees about its axis pointing in transport direction, in which process said sheet is held by clamping and frictional engagement between abutting segments (7?, 8?) of the tensioned belt, whereby at least one of the belts (7, 8), preferably each belt, is configured in a non-elastic manner, specifically reinforced, and that, in order to tension this belt, a tensioning device is provided.

  • Publication number: 20070274750
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of feeding sheets of printing material in a printing machine, preferably a digital printing machine, on a continuous loop transport means, in particular, a transport belt, which has at least one dead space section, specifically a seam, and which is preferably included in a transport path which permits the alternate selection between simplex printing and duplex printing, in which case it has been taken into account that a region, preferably the leading edge of a respective sheet on the transport means, is detected for the control of a printing process by means of a detecting device. The present invention is to solve the problem of making optimal use of space for sheets on the transport means, while avoiding detecting device errors caused by the dead space section. This problem has been solved by the present invention in that, when a sheet is fed, said sheet's region to be detected is prevented from entering into the dead space section of the transport means.

  • Patent number: 7212780
Abstract: Preparing substrates for one-sided or two-sided printing in an electrophotograpically operated digital printing apparatus, in which process substrates are fed out of a supply unit or several supply units onto a conveyor operation sequence and are transferred, preferably in the course of the conveyor operation sequence, onto a conveyor belt that runs through a printing unit, with the least possible space between successive substrates.
