  • Patent number: 7171395
Abstract: The invention relates among other things to a method for operating a secondary computer (22), in which a memory unit in an originating computer (12) initially stores a first data volume (112) and a second data volume (114). During transmission of copies of the data volumes (112, 114), change reports (150, 154) are processed in the originating computer (12) and in a secondary computer (22) irrespective of whether the associated data volume has already been transmitted.

  • Patent number: 7050450
Abstract: A telecommunications system includes devices to provide output clock signals that are synchronous to at least one source clock signal. A main clock generator includes a selector to select one of the output clock signals. The main clock generator generates a main clock signal based on a selected one of the output clock signals. Each of the devices includes a quality detector (i) to detect a quality of the at least one source clock signal, and (ii) to interrupt providing an output clock signal in response to a decrease in quality of the at least one source clock signal. The main clock generator includes an interrupt detector to detect an interruption in an output clock signal provided by at least one of the devices. The selector selects a different output clock signal if the interrupt detector detects that the selected one of the output clock signals is interrupted.

  • Patent number: 6985435
Abstract: A method for extending the switching matrix of a communication system without interruption which is effected by reserving space for the routing addresses of the largest extension stage both in the header translation table of the interface devices and in the cell header of each ATM cell, and by providing a system split which is used to replace the old switching matrix assemblies with new switching matrix assemblies in steps, the paths via the new switching matrix assemblies, insofar as they lead to the same output-side interface devices as via the old switching matrix assemblies, being addressable using the same routing addresses.

  • Publication number: 20040114604
Abstract: Two methods are provided for selecting the QoS level during a connection between a first media gateway which is associated with a first subscriber and a first network operation, and a second media gateway which is associated with a second subscriber and possibly a second network operation, either in a packet network via an exchange by a CODEC or in a network via an exchange by a transmission technique. In such methods, the first subscriber and/or the first network operator signals to a first media gateway controller that they would like another QoS. During the first method, a CODEC used in the connection is modified via the first and second media gateways and two media gateway controllers. During the second method, an IP connection is deviated towards a TDM connection, or vice versa, via additional TDM endpoints and the aforementioned components. It is thus possible to adapt the QoS level to the level currently required.

  • Patent number: 6691243
Abstract: Different conditions of a module are indicated by means of at least one visual indicator element, for instance in the form of a light emitting diode, mounted visibly on the module. Pressing a repair key initiates a repair condition, in which the actions and control procedures necessary for taking the faulty module out of service are carried out, and also causes a newly inserted module in a module frame to be automatically recognized, prompts a test function and causes the new module to be automatically put into service upon passing a test procedure.
