  • Patent number: 9625716
Abstract: Systems and aircraft are provided. The systems and aircraft include a controller, a projection surface, and at least one pair of active shutter 3-D glasses. The 3-D projector is configured to project a first 3-D HUD layout onto a projection surface. The projection surface is configured for displaying the 3-D HUD layout. The controller is operatively coupled with the 3-D projector and is configured to control the projector to project the 3-D HUD layout onto the projection surface. The first pair of active shutter 3-D glasses is configured to synchronize with the 3-D projector to present the first 3-D HUD layout to a first user.

  • Publication number: 20140358332
Abstract: Methods, aircraft, and instrumentation systems are provided. An aircraft instrumentation system includes a first sensor and a controller. The first sensor is configured to detect a first gesture within a first task envelope located in an aircraft. The controller is coupled with the first sensor and is configured to compare the first gesture with a plurality of stored gestures and generate an aircraft related task in response to a match between the first gesture and a stored gesture of the plurality of the stored gestures.

  • Publication number: 20140358334
Abstract: Aircraft and instrumentation systems are provided. An aircraft includes a display surface, at least one projector, at least one deep sensor, and a controller. The display surface is configured to display images with aircraft information. The at least one projector is oriented to project the images onto the display surface. The at least one deep sensor is configured to generate a signal indicative of a location of an object relative to the display surface. The controller is configured to generate tasks when the signal generated by the at least one deep sensor indicates that the object is touching the display surface. The controller is further configured to generate tasks based on a movement pattern of the object that is indicated by the signal generated by the at least one deep sensor.

  • Patent number: 6480770
Abstract: A system for analyzing aircraft data includes the steps of identifying a domain comprising sets of data, calculating ranges of typical values for components of the sets of data within the domain, and determining atypical components for each set of data within the sets of data based on the range of typical values calculated in the calculating step. A pre-cursor pattern to an exceedance event is determined by (a) identifying exceedance sets of data within the domain corresponding to an exceedance event, and (b) identifying common atypicalities of the exceedance sets of data. Mitigating factors for an exceedance event are determined by (a) identifying non-event sets of data within the domain in which atypicalities resembling the pre-cursor pattern exist but in which the exceedance event does not occur, and (b) identifying common atypicalities of the non-event sets of data as the mitigating factors.
