    Abstract: A dental implant and dental implant system which permits installation of the dental implant in shallow bone to increase anchorage of the dental implant in bone with the dental implant having an elongated shaft adapted for insertion within the alveolar cavity and a plurality of wings connected to the shaft along its length and extending radially outwardly therefrom to form a wing span of between at least 2 mm to 14 mm from the circumference of the shaft to anchor the shaft into bone and to facilitate bone osseointergration.
