  • Patent number: 6672907
Abstract: A suitable contact state is attained by an always stable contact pressure between a male contact and a female contact which form a tuning fork type contact. For a contacts providing a tuning fork type contact 2 that attains a contact state by inserting a male contact 4 between a pair of beams 6a and 6b provided on a female contact 6, in the connected state, male contact 4 and female contact 6 are arranged so as to maintain a state wherein the width direction of the male contact is angled relative to the direction of separation of the beams 6a and 6b.

  • Patent number: 6537095
Abstract: A low insertion force terminal comprising a female terminal (12) and a male terminal (11), the female terminal 12 being provided with a bottom (14) soldered to wiring, and a pair of opposing upright parts (15,16) extending from said bottom (14) in a cantilevered beam shape; and wherein an extended part (19) that projects on the distal end (16a) of one of said upright parts (16) farther than the distal end part (15a) of the other upright part (15) in the widthwise direction is provided, and a male terminal supporting part (18) that grasps and supports the male terminal (11) is provided at a position in proximity to said extended part (19) of said pair of upright parts (15,16).

  • Patent number: 6425785
Abstract: An electric connector of the present invention is directed to alleviating a stress in housings of an electric connector. In the housings 16 of the electric connector, slots 44, 46 are formed to receive associated terminals. Projections 48a, 48b are formed in a staggered fashion on the oppose wall portions of the slot. The terminal 24 has a retaining section 28 against which the projections 48a, 48b abut and a projection 29 abutting against one wall surface. By the projection 29 and projection 48a on the wall surface against which the projection 29 abuts, a projection 48b on the other wall surf ace supports a force urging the terminal 24, so that the terminal 24 is retained in place in the slot 44.
