  • Publication number: 20210290575
Abstract: Provided, in part, are methods, compositions, and systems are provided for detecting one or more repellent-generating enzymatic pathways by characterizing the skin microbiomes and metabolomes of populations of individuals both naturally resistant and highly prone to bites from blood sucking arthropods, determining the microbial taxa (and their associated metabolic pathways) most associated with insect repellency and targeting/activating those pathways with molecular substrates that, when metabolized, will give rise, in situ, to repellent molecules and can promote a shift to a more naturally repellent microbiome composition.
    Type: Application
    Filed: April 6, 2021
    Publication date: September 23, 2021
Inventors: Nicole M. Scott, Eddie Adams

  • Patent number: 9819113
Abstract: A clamp for establishing an electrical connection with a conductor is provided. The clamp comprises a first body and a second body. The second body is pivotally coupled to the first body. The first and second bodies define a receiving region therebetween for receiving a conductor. The first and second bodies are biased towards each other at the receiving region to clamp a conductor. The clamp also comprises a shutter, movably coupled to one of the first body and the second body. The shutter is biased into a restricting position in which entry into the receiving region is restricted.

  • Patent number: 4602638
Abstract: An invasive electrical stimulation device includes a cathode an anode, each comprising a thin electrically conductive sheet having one exposed surface and the opposite surface covered with an insulation layer. A pair of insulated leads connect the cathode and anode to an implantable power pac which includes a source of electric power and an insulating encasement surrounding the same. The cathode may be equipped with a plurality of spaced-apart FM channel monitors which are electrically connected to an FM telemetry component within the power pac for transmitting signals indicative of the healing response of a fracture to electrical stimulation. A frequency modulated current regulator may be added to the power pac for adjusting the amperage in response to FM control signals from a remote transmitter or automatically by an implantable computer assisted device.
