    Abstract: A pulse vacuum extraction solvent cleaning system in which solvent remnants are removed from a cleaning vessel by evacuating the closed cleaning vessel to a predetermined vacuum pressure. At the predetermined vacuum pressure, if the concentration of solvent exceeds a predetermined value, air is introduced into the cleaning vessel to reduce the vacuum pressure and provide a carrier to remove the solvent. The process repeats until the solvent concentration falls below a predetermined threshold.
