  • Patent number: 8116684
Abstract: Techniques are described that can be used to perform one or more of the following actions in order to reduce signal interference between WLAN and BlueTooth radios that are proximate to one another. One action is to selectively reduce a filter bandwidth in a WLAN radio applied to a received WLAN radio signal to reduce BlueTooth signal interference. An additional or alternative action is to selectively indicate a WLAN radio channel bandwidth larger than a channel bandwidth used for the WLAN radio so that the BlueTooth radio avoids transmitting over the indicated channel bandwidth. An additional or alternative action is to selectively reduce BlueTooth transmitter power in response to antenna isolation between BT and WLAN radio being less than a first threshold in order to reduce the likelihood of WLAN radio front end saturation.

  • Patent number: 7958517
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for executing functions in an event driven environment. A bridge module stores parameters and a proxy function pointer for a proxy function in a bridge structure for a co-routine context executing in a co-routine environment. The proxy function is configured to execute in an event driven environment. The bridge module also stores a bridge pointer for the bridge structure in a bridge pointer register of an event driven context structure. A swap context module swaps to the event driven context. An execute module retrieves the proxy function pointer from the bridge structure using the bridge pointer if the bridge pointer register is not null, executes the proxy function, and stores the results of the proxy function in the bridge structure.

  • Publication number: 20110064158
Abstract: A first N×M codebook of a first rank M may be used to generate a second N×(N?M) codebook of a second rank (N?M). This second codebook is both orthogonal and complementary to the first codebook. In practice, this may reduce storage requirements in closed-loop MIMO beamforming, because the second codebook may be dynamically generated as needed by a base station and/or a mobile station. In some cases, a higher rank beamforming matrix or precoding matrix may be formed from a lower rank (e.g., one or two) beamforming matrix or precoding matrix. Also, a novel way to generate the rotation matrix Qv(t?1) is disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20100157875
Abstract: In various embodiments of the invention, a relay station in a wireless communications network may communicate with one or more subscriber stations at the same time and/or on the same frequency that the associated base station is communicating with another relay station in the same network. This contrasts with the conventional technique of devoting one time period or frequency exclusively to communications between the base station and the relay stations, and devoting another time period or frequency exclusively to communications between the relay stations and the subscriber stations.

  • Publication number: 20090247086
Abstract: A base station may transmit at varied power levels. Subscriber stations receiving the power levels can transmit noise information back to the base station. As a result, co-channel interference can be determined from the varied power transmissions, either in the base station or in the subscriber station. In addition, in some embodiments, the transmissions may include different phases so that the phase of the co-channel interference may be determined as well.

  • Patent number: 7348928
Abstract: Briefly, in accordance with one embodiment of the invention, a slot antenna may include a primary slot and one or more secondary slots. The size of the antenna may be reduced by adding one or more of the secondary slots which may add additional inductance to the antenna. Furthermore, the size of the antenna may be reduced by increasing the inductance of the secondary slots via increasing the length of the slots or by changing the shape of the slots. The antenna may include one or more MEMS varactors coupled to one or more of the secondary slots. The resonant frequency of the slot antenna may be tuned to a desired frequency by changing the capacitance value of one or more of the MEMS varactors to a desired capacitance value.

  • Patent number: 7279989
Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention provides an apparatus, comprising an oscillator capable of generating a clock signal, wherein said apparatus is capable of clock noise mitigation using a frequency adaptive algorithm, technique, process or system. And wherein said oscillator may be a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) operating near a desired frequency used to generate an output signal. The clock noise mitigation may accomplished by portion of said VCO signal being fed into a first dividing circuit capable of dividing by a given number M, and a second dividing circuit, N, wherein said first and second dividing circuits may be capable of producing a signal close to the frequency of a reference oscillator, said VCO signal may then be compared via a phase comparator to a reference frequency and wherein the phase comparator signal may then be fed back to the VCO such that its frequency will “lock” to said reference oscillator.
