  • Publication number: 20110259512
Abstract: The present invention is related to a method for producing a multilayer structure comprising a thin polymeric layer (10) comprising the steps of: coextruding said thin layer on both sides of a support polymer layer (11) and forming a coextruded structure (7); laminating or extrusion coating at least one additional layer (16) on both sides of said coextruded structure; peeling-off said thin layers, along with the additional layers from said support layer (16) to build a multilayer polymer structure.

  • Publication number: 20110094193
Abstract: The present invention is related to a vertical/horizontal form, fill and seal packaging comprising a plastic film, a longitudinal seam (2) and a cross-directional seam (5), characterised in that the longitudinal seam (2) comprises a continuous teeth structure of adjacent notches (1) with no remaining horizontal cutting lines, representing tear initiations over the whole length of the longitudinal seam (2) said packaging being obtained by a machine reel (4) of said plastic film comprising on both lateral edges said continuous teeth structure (1) in order to avoid additional scrap in the VFFS/HFFS packaging process. The present invention is also related to a process of making such a packaging, said process starting out from a reel comprising a continuous teeth structure on its lateral edges.

  • Publication number: 20040141664
Abstract: A box-shaped package of a flexible and sealable, especially heat-sealable, packaging material including a front wall (1) and a back wall (2) arranged opposite each another and sealed together along opposed side edges thereof by means transverse side seams (5, 6). The package further includes two opposed and inwardly folded end walls (3, 4), a first end wall (3) being sealed to the front and the back walls (1, 2) along first longitudinal end seams (9,10) and along first end side seams (11, 12) and a second end wall (4) being sealed to the front and the back walls (1, 2) along second longitudinal end seams (15, 16) and along second end side seams (17, 18). At least one of the side seams is peelable, and at least portions of the front and the back walls (1, 2) extend beyond the transverse peelable side seam (5) to form a front wall gripping member (19) and a back wall gripping member (20).

  • Patent number: 6374583
Abstract: A packaging wrapper consisting of a film intended to be closed by two twists on either side of an article to be packaged, characterized in that the film comprises, on the internal side in relation to the article to be packaged, a sealing coating placed along two transverse strips on either side of the article to be packaged and extending parallel to an axis passing through the two twists. The film may additionally comprise two lengthwise strips of sealing coating extending on either side of the strips of sealing coating extending on either side of the article to be packaged, perpendicularly to the said transverse strips in the regions of formation of the twists. These sealing coatings may be either cold-sealing coatings or heat-sealing coatings.

  • Patent number: 5935686
Abstract: The packaging wrapper consists of a film intended to be closed by at least one twist (22), including, on the internal side, a cold-sealing coating placed along two lengthwise strips (12, 14) on either side of the article to be packaged in order to retain the twists. The film additionally has at least one transverse additional strip (24), (26) of cold-sealing coating placed along one edge of the film (20) perpendicularly to the lengthwise strips (12, 14). The packaging process consists in closing the wrapper by virtue of the transverse strips (24), (26), along a direction parallel to the axis passing through the twists (22).
