  • Patent number: 5104726
Abstract: A structure multi-layer fabric (A) is disclosed having a prescribed weave pattern and mesh which provides uniform flexibility and which can be used as structural fabric or impregnated with a resin in a structural composite. The flexibility of the fabric facilitates conforming of the fabric to a desired shape. The rising and sinking warp yarns in the warp and weft directions facilitate effective impregnation by defining trough-like structures in the fabric, as well as enhancing the fabric flexibility. The fabric is characterized as having (N) layers, 2N basic warp yarns woven in a 2N yarn repeat, and 2N-2) basic weft yarns woven in a (2N-2) yarn repeat. In the illustrated embodiment, there are 10 basic weft yarn picks (60,62,64,66,68,70,72,74,76,78) and twelve basic warp yarns (34,36,38,40,42,44,46,48,50,52,54,56) woven in 6 layers (D,E,F,G,H,I). Warp yarns (B) and weft yarns (C) rise and sink in the fabric between outer face (30) and outer face (32).

  • Patent number: 4698228
Abstract: A dough guide is used to precisely control thickness of an expanding dough extrudate. The extrudate is forced through at least two vertical slots in an extrusion head, at relatively high pressure and at a temperature at least equal to the boiling temperature of water. The dough guide has three plates. A middle plate is fixed between the slots. Two movable plates are disposed on opposite sides of each slot from the middle plate. A threaded rod is used to selectively adjust the location of each of the movable plates. In alternative embodiments, any number of slots are used, each having two guides adjacent it. Any or all of the guides may be made selectively movable. A product called "crisp bread" may be made thereby.

  • Patent number: 4281211
Abstract: A flexible woven jacket assembly is disclosed for encasing woven electrical transmission cables providing a flexible package while maintaining the conductors of stacked cables generally fixed in their relative positions and providing protection against abrasion and unwanted electromagnetic noises. The woven jacket assembly includes a woven cover fabric formed from aromatic polyamide fibers woven together to form a solid outer cover fabric and various shielding is disclosed for reducing unwanted electromagnetic noises.

  • Patent number: 4229615
Abstract: A woven electrical multi-conductor cable is disclosed having alternating longitudinal sections having generally flat and round configurations wherein the flat section affords binding of the conductors in fixed locations for convenient termination and uni-directional routing and wherein conductors are harnessed in the round section in random order for gimbal flexibility affording omni-directional routing of the cable in the round section.

  • Patent number: 4159394
Abstract: A woven multiconductor cable and method of making the same includes at least two longitudinal sections arranged in a side-by-side manner having a plurality of elongated conductors and a cut-line formed between the sections along which the filling strand of the woven cable may be cut along a desired length of the cable to separate the cable into individual sections which remain bound by alternate picks of the filling strand.

  • Patent number: 4158104
Abstract: A curved woven cable having a plurality of conductors and a method for constructing the same is disclosed wherein warp binder strands and a fill strand are interwoven with the conductors with at least one void area being formed in which the conductors are not interwoven with the warp strands and fill strands so that the cable may be curved. In a preferred method, the void area is formed by weaving the warp strands and fill strands with the conductors removed from the weave to form a weave portion floated outside of the conductors but which remains an important structural portion of the cable in maintaining its curved configuration.

  • Patent number: 4143236
Abstract: A woven electrical cable comprising a plurality of longitudinal conductor wires arranged in a substantially side-by-side manner for transmitting signals with a pair of longitudinal ground wires carried between adjacent conductor wires longitudinally coextending in a substantially parallel relationship with said conductor wires providing an associated ground wire on each side thereof for isolating a respective conductor wire. The conductor wires and ground wires are interwoven with insulating fiber strands to define a woven pattern with the associated ground wires being spaced from each respective conductor wire in the woven pattern so as to isolate and set the impedance of each conductor wire at a desired impedance value whereby the cable impedance may be controlled producing transmission of uniform signals with reduced cross-talk interference.

  • Patent number: 4095042
Abstract: A shielded cable is disclosed in which a plurality of elongated conductor wires are interwoven with a plurality of metallic fiber strands to define a woven cover for isolating the conductor wires from electromagnetic interference. The woven cover includes a plurality of fiber warp strands woven with a continuous fiber fill strand defining a plain weave of metallic fibers around the conductor wires to shield from external interference and a plurality of warp binder strands woven between adjacent conductor wires between alternate top and bottom runs of the fill strand to shield the conductor wires from internal interference.

  • Patent number: 3984622
Abstract: A multi-conductor cable harness includes a trunk having a woven cover enclosing a plurality of conductor wires, and a series of reduced trunk cover segments extended therefrom. Branches of wires are broken out of the woven cover at junctions of adjacent reduced segments so as to be spaced laterally, longitudinally and vertically with respect to each other. The branch portions are accurately separated into distinct branches for providing programmed connections for the conductor wires.
