  • Publication number: 20230071991
Abstract: Presented and described is a hydrocarbon resin obtainable by thermal polymerization of a cyclic diolefin component including a cyclic diolefin compound with an aromatic component including indene and/or C1-4-alkylindene, with the hydrocarbon resin having a polydispersity index (PDI) of 1 to less than 2.3. Further described is a production process for the hydrocarbon resin, wherein a monomer mixture which includes an aromatic component including indene and/or C1-4-alkylindene and a cyclic diolefin component including a cyclic diolefin compound is polymerized by heating to a polymerization temperature of at least 180° C. to give a product stream including hydrocarbon resin, and oligomers which include units originating from the cyclic diolefin compound and/or units originating from the aromatic component are separated from the product stream and returned to the monomer mixture.

  • Patent number: 6846962
Abstract: In a method for the production of o-alkyl phenols by conversion of phenol with an alkanol at elevated temperature in the gas phase in the presence of a metal catalyst, the conversion takes place in at least two stages wherein the alkanol/phenol molar ratio in each reaction stage is set to a value of approximately ?0.4; a clear increase in the selectivity for the o-alkyl phenol is obtained.

  • Publication number: 20040068155
Abstract: In a method for obtaining anthracene and carbazole and their sequential products from the anthracene oil resulting during coal tar distillation or its purification products, anthracene oil or the purification product crude anthracene is converted into a melt without adding solvent, the melt is cooled under the crystallization point of carbazole and anthracene, the crystal product obtained is separated from the liquid phase, and the crystal product is distilled to obtain pure anthracene and pure carbazole.

  • Patent number: 6624334
Abstract: Aryl alkyl ethers can be produced by the reaction of hydroxyaromatics with an alcohol in the presence of a catalyst. This process achieves higher yields of aryl alkyl ethers and the formation of ring-alkylated products and dialkyl ethers is markedly reduced.

  • Patent number: 6258985
Abstract: A method for removing of metal ions from cresol or from mixtures of aromatic compounds containing cresol is disclosed, wherein the water content in the cresol mixture is adjusted to at least about 0.5 per cent by weight by the addition of water and the water-and-cresol mixture is subsequently passed over an acid ion exchanger. As a result of this process a metal ion content of less than 20 ppb per metal ion is achieved.

  • Patent number: 6020494
Abstract: In a method of purifying quinaldine prepared from coal tar, a phenol, cresol and xylenol-type mononuclear aromatic compound is added to the quinaldine fraction, said aromatic compound is crystallized out forming an adduct with quinaldine and the quinaldine/mononuclear aromatic adduct is then separated, whereby, before the mononuclear aromatic compound is added, 5% to 20% by weight of a mixture of aromatic compounds or toluene, in relation to the mass of the quinaldine fraction, is added to the quinaldine fraction.
