Abstract: A paste-form detergent and process of making the detergent is presented. The detergent is composed of: 5 to 30 percent by weight of an ethoxylated alcohol of the formula R1—(OC2H4)m—OH where R1 is an alkyl or alkenyl group containing 9 to 15 carbon atoms and the average degree of ethoxylation m is 1 to 8; 1 to 20 percent by weight of an ethoxylated alcohol of the formula R2—(OC2H4)nOH where R2 is an alkyl or alkenyl group containing 12 to 22 carbon atoms and the average degree of ethoxylation n is 3 to 14, and n is greater than m by at least 1.0; 1 to 20 percent by weight of an alcohol or alkyl ether corresponding to the formula R3—O—R4 where R3 is an alkyl or alkenyl group containing 6 to 22 carbon atoms and R4 is hydrogen or an alkyl group containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms; 20 to 80 percent by weight of an alkalizing agent, and 0 to 15 percent by weight of an organic builder.

Abstract: An institutional textile washing process comprising a washing step preceded by a pretreatment step comprising a soaking step or a prewash step, wherein the textile is treated in the pretreatment step in the presence of water with a soil release polymer comprising a copolyester of a dicarboxylic acid and a diol or a polydiol.

Abstract: A dispenser container for a paste is provided. The dispenser container is formed from a cylinder open at one end for holding the paste, a displaceable tightly fitted follower plate means is arranged at the open end of the cylinder and a dispenser for transporting the paste from the container is arranged to cooperate with the follower plate. A motor and transmission are mounted near the center of the follower plate and has a shaft which extends through the follower plate and has mounted thereon a multiple blade stirrer. The stirrer rotates in the paste below the follower plate. The dispenser removes the paste from the container at a position away from the center of the follower plate in an area below which the multiple blade stirrer rotates. The multiple blade stirrer by rotating in the paste lowers the viscosity and permits the paste to be more easily transported from the container by the dispenser.

Abstract: A process for monitoring the concentration level of a detergent or bleach in a washing liquor of an institutional laundry machine by measuring emitted fluorescence radiation in the washing liquor.

Abstract: Bleaching agents in the form of granulates of uniform composition which contain(a) a solid aliphatic peroxycarboxylic acid,(b) a hydratable inorganic salt, and(c) an organic polymer granulation aid soluble in alkaline aqueous medium, wherein the granulate, when dissolved in water, has a mildly acidic pH.

Abstract: Liquid aftertreatment preparations for laundry having fabric-softening, acidifying and antichlorinating properties which contain, in acidic aqueous solution, hydrogen peroxide or an organic percarboxylic acid, a quaternary ammonium compounds, and hexafluorosilicic acid and/or water-soluble salts thereof, more especially the magnesium salt, as an acidifying agent. Preparations containing magnesium salts of hexafluorosilicic acid are distinguished by particularly high stability of the per compounds.

Abstract: Cyanamide compounds corresponding to the following formula ##STR1## in which R and R' each represent C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl, cyclohexyl and benzyl, are used as activators for inorganic per compounds. They are preferably used in the mildly alkaline range at temperatures below 45.degree. C. Applications include the bleaching of textiles and hard surfaces, the oxidation of organic and inorganic intermediate products, and disinfection.
