  • Patent number: 9576506
Abstract: A structure is configured to be flat in an unassembled position and to form a three-dimensional structure in an assembled position. The structure includes a plurality of adjacent panels coupled together along fold lines with each panel including a foam core covered on one surface by a flexible skin. The flexible skin is continuous between the adjacent panels that are coupled together for forming a respective fold line for the adjacent panels to be brought together at a right angle to each other along the fold line. The foam core of each panel includes a mitered surface along abutting edges to form a miter joint when adjacent panels are brought together. Slots are formed in the panel cores adjacent to mitered surfaces. Brackets span a miter joint between adjacent panels, holding the spanned miter joint and panels together in a three-dimensional structure.

  • Patent number: 8327591
Abstract: An overhead panel assembly for coupling to a drop ceiling includes a support channel and a clip coupling the support channel to a grid member of the drop ceiling. The overhead panel assembly further includes a vertical panel received over and coupled to the support member with a plurality of binding members. A plurality of clips, support channels, and vertical panels may be positioned in series along a drop ceiling to form a decorative soffit, valance, display, or other structure.

  • Patent number: 7152383
Abstract: A blind connection for joining foam core panels which comprise a central sheet of foamed resinous material having top and bottom rails and veneers bonded to opposite sides of the central sheet and the rails. The rails having abutting side edge faces with matching slots formed along the length of the side edges. Te slots have undercut retaining surfaces which are engaged by retaining surfaces formed on a joining member which is inserted into these slots in joining the panels in assembled relation. The use of modified joining members in connecting foam core panels that are in angled relation to each other is also described. Wear resistant retaining surfaces may be provided for slots in the foam core by solid polymer liners. Additionally a method customizing panels on an installation job site is provided through the use of portable electrically powered saw to cut a panel to a desired width and a portable electrically powered router to form and undercut slot for receiving a joining member.

  • Patent number: 6453633
Abstract: Light weight, foamed panels are suspended in spaced relation above the floor of an arena to create “privacy zones” which facilitate discussion and concentration on details. In the prior art, attachment of the panels to mounting rods was predicated on cementing wooden strips in the upper surface of the panel, in order to provide T-nuts, into which suspension rods are threaded. The improved installation employs a plurality of attaching members, each of which has a tubular body portion which is inserted through a vertically disposed hole in the foamed panel and an ornamental flange projecting laterally and underlying the bottom of the penal. Each tubular body portion has a threaded portion which is threaded onto a supporting rod. Torquing surfaces are provided on the attaching members to facilitate their being threaded onto the supporting rods.

  • Patent number: 6053460
Abstract: A display panel for use in combination with a merchandise fixture, having a plurality of hanger arms on which a garments, or other merchandise can be hung by conventional hangers. The display panel is secured to the outer end of a hanger arm, with its width dimension disposed in a plane normal to the length of the hanger arm. The display panel has a projecting peg on which a sample of the merchandise may be hung. The display panel is connected to the hanger arm, by mechanism which includes a U-shaped bracket. The hanger arm is connected to the bracket by being captured between vertically and horizontally adjustable bolts, mounted on the bracket. Alternatively, the hanger arm may be secured by being clamped against a fixed abutment on the bracket. The lower end of the display panel may be positioned in an upright position by a position plate that is relatively thin and underlies a portion of the fixture. The positioning plate in one embodiment, in connected to the display panel by a hinge.
