  • Patent number: 6787716
Abstract: A multiple position switch assembly includes two or more switch modules. The switch modules are each suited as an individual switch module for use in a two-way switch assembly. Two switch modules of like kind but complementary to one another may be combined with one another such that the two combined switch modules form a four-way switch assembly. Each switch module includes control elements pivotally or movably connected to a base. Each of the control elements is associated with a switching element. In the four-way switch assembly, the control elements are arranged in an antiparallel arrangement and each can be alternately actuated by a common actuator. Upon being actuated, the control elements pivot or move to actuate the corresponding switching element. The actuator is movable along four actuating directions oriented in a cross-shaped manner with regard to one another.

  • Patent number: 6084189
Abstract: An electrical switch includes a housing, fixed contact elements fixed with respect to the housing, and movable contact elements movable with respect to the housing. Each of the movable contact elements is positioned directly opposite from a respective fixed contact element. An auxiliary frame is positioned within the housing and has four bearing eyes offset by 90.degree. with respect to each other. Two first pivot pins are offset by 180.degree. with respect to each other and form a first pivot axis. The two first pivot pins are rotatably received by a respective one of a first bearing eye pair of the auxiliary frame. Two second pivot pins are offset by 180.degree. with respect to each other and form a second pivot axis. The two second pivot pins are rotatably received by a respective one of a second bearing eye pair of the auxiliary frame.

  • Patent number: 4636597
Abstract: An electrical snap switch having a pivotably mounted snap switch operating member which is acted upon by a switch spring assembly and which is provided with a wedge-shaped relief segment for interaction with a wedge-shaped relief segment provided on a sliding control member for the control of contact means. A one-piece elongated metal member is provided which serves alternatively as a contact means and as a switch spring means, whereby the snap switch is easy to mount and requires but few relatively simple component parts. The metal member includes a pull section for engagement with the switch operating member and a push section for engagement with a fixed contact member, its free end being provided with a plated contact to enable the metal element to bear against at least one fixed contact member.
