  • Publication number: 20050229395
Abstract: A ceramic rolling body for a rolling bearing comprising a blank produced in an individual mold and having an encircling roller lateral surface which merges, via two lateral transition radii into two roller end faces. To reduce the costs of producing this ceramic roller, the roller lateral surface and the roller end faces of the blank have a maximum grinding layer that exceeds the final shape of the ceramic roller of between 1 and 5 ?m. A plurality of cavities are formed into the roller end faces to reduce diffusion time and save sintering material.

  • Patent number: 6506266
Abstract: A composition for steel used for tires or solid wheels of rail vehicles, which composition provides improved properties, in terms of wear, crack susceptibility, ability to withstand thermal loads, homogenous microstructural properties and suitability for high dynamic loads, as compared to standard steels used for tires or solid wheels of rail vehicles. The steel is a modification of AISI S2 steel previously only used for antifriction bearings. The elements of the composition and their presence by percentage of total mass of the steel and ratios of the presence of various elements are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6102574
Abstract: In order to allow current to pass a shaft bearing of a rail vehicle an additional rolling bearing is provided on the shaft and is electrically insulated relative to the shaft bearing. The inner ring of the additional rolling bearing is seated firmly on the shaft. A gap between the exterior of the outer ring of the additional bearing and the housing of the rolling mounting is provided with an insulating bush. The gap on insulating bush is bridged by an electrically insulated connector extending from outside the bearing housing and extending between the bearing housing and the outer ring of the additional rolling bearing.
