  • Patent number: 4464975
Abstract: A feature of this invention is the provision of a dispersion control which continually displaces the aimpoint of the gun system about its nominal aimpoint in a pattern which is determined by the future slant range and the desired ballistic pattern for the specific target.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 29, 1981
Date of Patent: August 14, 1984
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Edgar R. Terry, Joseph A. Hudock
  • Patent number: 4244272
Abstract: A system is provided for matching the auto- and cross-correlated components of error and constant and/or range-dependent biases with appropriate values of ballistic dispersion or random errors in order to decouple the gun system from the highly auto- and cross-correlated tracking and/or gun-order errors associated with high firing-rate multibarrel guns. This angular ballistic dispersion--artificially induced to some preset value or continuously adjusted during the tracking and/or firing interval--maximizes the probability of a preassigned number of hits on target.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 10, 1978
Date of Patent: January 13, 1981
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Edgar R. Terry, Joseph A. Hudock
