Patent number: 11307561Abstract: Techniques are described for receiving manufacturing data and events over real time and non-real time interfaces and associating the data with one another. In one example, real time data is received, the real time data associated with a counter value assigned by a precision counter. The received real time data is stored in a storage buffer, and non-real time data is received, where the non-real time data associated with a counter value assigned by the precision counter. In response to receiving the non-real time data, the buffer is searched for real time data having a matching counter value and, in response to identifying stored real time data associated with a matching counter value, the non-real time data is associated with the real time data based on the match. Data packages are generated including related real time and non-real time data associated with matching counter values.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2020Date of Patent: April 19, 2022Assignee: SAP SEInventors: Edgar Wolf, Stephan Meier, Robert Noce

Patent number: 10718141Abstract: A compact door barricade apparatus for use on doors is described. The apparatus is equipped with a protective inner case, outer case, door mount, an upper barricade, a lower barricade, barricade pivot links, handles, and barricade latches. Screws or lag bolts are used to mount the barricade latches to the door frame. The door mount connects the apparatus to the door. The barricade pivot links effectively link the movement of the upper barricade to that of the lower barricade. The movement of the handle disposed on the apparatus facilitates the synchronous movement of the upper and lower barricades across the width of the door and door frame, effectively securing individuals within a room.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 2017Date of Patent: July 21, 2020Inventors: Jeremy D. Patent number: 9933770Abstract: A method and apparatus for linking an automation device to a data processing system is disclosed that creates a virtual device in the data processing system for the automation device. An identification number is generated in the data processing system as a function of a classification of the virtual device in the data processing system for identifying the virtual device. The identification number assigned to the virtual device and passed to a configuration tool that is designed to configure the automation device. The identification number is assigned by the configuration tool to a configuration dataset that is then loaded onto the automation device, stored in the automation device, and used by the automation device for the interaction of the automation device with the data processing system.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2016Date of Patent: April 3, 2018Assignee: SIEMENS AKTIENGESELLSCHAFTInventor: Edgar Wolf

Patent number: 9122269Abstract: In a method and system for operating a machine from the field of automation engineering, operating inputs entered at an operating unit of the machine and an identification code are transmitted via a data network to communication server software running on an external computing device. The communication server software determines MMI (machine-machine-interface) application software associated with the machine and with the operating inputs and transfers the operating inputs to the MMI application software, which in turn determines visualization data on the basis of the operating inputs. The visualization data specify a graphical output image to be represented on a display screen and are transferred to the machine via the communication server software and the data network for display. The performance characteristics of the machine can thereby be enhanced, without increasing demands on the hardware.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2011Date of Patent: September 1, 2015Assignee: SIEMENS AKTIENGESELLSCHAFTInventor: Edgar Wolf

Publication number: 20090271012Abstract: There is described a method for displaying an Internet page an/or an intranet page on a visualization device of an industrial automation device, wherein the method relates to data of the Internet page and/or intranet page which are stored in a first data format on a server. In this case, the industrial automation device can be unburdened of tasks for displaying the page. The data of the Internet page and/or intranet page can be transmitted to a data processing device via the Internet and/or an intranet and can be received by the data processing device, after which the data processing device converts the data of the Internet page and or intranet page, which are in the first data format, into a second data format, after which these converted data are transmitted to the industrial automation device and/or to the visualization device of the industrial automation device. Following this, the page can be fully or partially displayed on the visualization device of the industrial automation device.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 7, 2006Publication date: October 29, 2009Inventors: Markus Kopka, Thomas Malik, Edgar Wolf
