  • Publication number: 20180208833
Abstract: Methods including introducing a low-polymer loading treatment fluid (LPLTF) into a subterranean formation for performing a subterranean formation operation at a target interval. The LPLTF comprises an aqueous-based fluid, a guar-based gelling agent in an amount of less than about 2.4 grams/liter of the liquid portion of the LPLTF, and a dual crosslinking additive comprising a metal crosslinker and a multifunctional boronic acid crosslinker in a ratio in the range of about 1:100 to about 100:1.

  • Patent number: 5249627
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for treating coal seams to improve dewatering to enhance gas production therefrom. The treatment is effected by contacting the coal with an effective amount of a selected additive comprises at least one member selected from the group consisting of benzyl coco di-(hydroxyethyl) quaternary amine, p-T-amyl-phenol condensed with formaldehyde and a copolymer comprising from about 80 to about 100% C.sub.1-30 alkyl methacrylate monomers and from about 0 to about 20% hydrophilic monomers.

    Assignee: Halliburton Company
Inventors: Weldon M. Harms, Edith Scott
  • Patent number: 4487866
Abstract: A method of rendering a water soluble anionic polymer more dispersible in water. The method is carried out by mixing in a polar liquid the water soluble anionic polymers and cationic or amphoteric polymers to form a mixture. When the cationic or amphoteric polymer is added to the anionic polymer in an amount of from about 25 to about 75 percent by weight of the anionic polymer, the salt is added to the mixture in order to hydrate the anionic polymers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 22, 1983
Date of Patent: December 11, 1984
    Assignee: Halliburton Company
Inventors: Stephen W. Almond, Edith Scott
  • Patent number: 4487867
Abstract: A composition and method for stimulating a subterranean formation. The composition contains an anionic polymer which is readily dispersible in water, having a molecular weight sufficient to thicken water, and a cationic or amphoteric polymer or mixtures thereof.
