  • Publication number: 20140227996
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for selecting a mobile telephony operator so as to allow a subscriber, having a main subscription, to enter into a roaming situation, wherein said subscriber is using a mobile terminal. According to the invention, the method involves: i) suggesting the name of at least one alternative operator network, capable of providing roaming service, to the subscriber having a main subscription, said suggestion being accompanied by an indication of the roaming rate charged by said alternative operator network; and ii) after the user selects an alternative operator network, sending an IMSI to the mobile terminal, which enables said user to be connected to the alternative operator network so as to benefit from the roaming rate thereof.

  • Patent number: 7817992
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for updating in at least a first mobile communication apparatus (48) of a network, in particular of the GSM type, a personal data file concerning at least a correspondent of the user of the first communication apparatus, said correspondent being equipped with a second mobile communication apparatus (60) and having modified at least one personal information concerning him. The invention is characterized in that it comprises the following main steps which consist in: (a) detecting in said second mobile communication apparatus (60) the call number of said first mobile communication apparatus (48), and (b) transmitting to at least said first mobile communication apparatus (48) said modified personal information.

  • Patent number: 5867639
Abstract: Data validation uses redundant storage of the data on two-layer magnetic tapes. A method and system provide data recording and reading on such magnetic tapes with a high degree of protection from errors and/or fraudulent behavior. The two-layer tape includes a first layer with a high coercive field positioned on a support and a second magnetic layer with a lower coercive field covering the first layer. Synchronous recording is done on the two layers so that all data is recorded on the second layer and some of the date is recorded on the first layer. Data on the second layer is validated upon reading by reading the data in the first layer after erasure of the second layer.
