  • Patent number: 8524165
Abstract: A pipe reactor, especially for production of UAS, includes a tubular body and a reactor head, wherein the reactor head has a device for axial injection of acid, a device for injection of ammonia, a device for supply of urea and a reaction chamber, where acid and ammonia can react before coming into contact with urea.

  • Patent number: 6117406
Abstract: A process for manufacturing ammonium salts using a reactor which includes a first tubular reaction chamber having at least one acid feed and at least on ammonia feed which are arranged in a first up-stream part of the reactor. At least one second ammonia feed is introduced into a second part of the reactor which is arranged as an extension of the first and which includes, in a flow direction, a convergent segment, a cylindrical tube and a divergent segment. The second ammonia feed communicates with the second part in the vicinity of the convergent segment and the processes is controlled to obtain basic vapors at an outlet of the reactor.

    Inventors: Edmond Vogel, Jacques Monsterleet
  • Patent number: 6022386
Abstract: According to this process, there is used a granulator (10) employing a rotary drum and a fluid bed which is usually employed for producing dense granules for the production of porous granules, For this purpose, the process comprises spraying in this granulator ammonium nitrate in solution and effecting a combined cycle of granulation and drying which causes the formation of pores in the mass of the granules. The drying is then terminated in a drier (20) and the product thereafter is screened and cooled.

  • Patent number: 4749349
Abstract: This granulating device (1) comprises a drum (2) mounted so as to rotate around a substantially horizontal axis. On its inner periphery, this drum (2) carries lifters (20) intended to entrain and lift granules of a substance which is crystallized over a part of its path and it is associated with an entry channel (7) for fine granules which opens into the vicinity of a first end, which is away from that at which the granules are discharged from the drum. A spraying bar (5) is provided inside the latter for spraying the product to be granulated. According to the invention, a fluidized bed device (3) is arranged inside the drum for cooling the granules which are stirred and lifted in the drum, as they become coated by spraying. This device enables the granules to grow uniformly and to cool and dry efficiently, resulting in the production of granules of a very good quality and controlled particle size.
