  • Patent number: 7627055
Abstract: An error adjustment method of equalizing transmission characteristics of a signal processing circuitry is disclosed. In a first step, an original complex IQ signal is generated, on which error adjustment is performed. Then, the adjusted complex IQ signal is processed in the signal processing circuitry, thereby obtaining a processed real signal. The envelope of the real signal is detected and this real signal envelope and the original complex IQ signal are synchronized. The envelope of the original complex IQ signal is derived and the synchronized real signal envelope is compared with the synchronized original IQ signal envelope at two consecutive time instances. Finally, a processed complex IQ signal is obtained from the real signal envelope on the basis of the comparison result, which processed complex IQ signal is used in performing error adjustment.

  • Publication number: 20090141019
Abstract: 3D technologies have facilitated tremendous growth in terms of allowing real-world browsing using compositions of satellite or aerial images or static 3D models of real-world objects. Prior art approaches, however, are limited with respect to real-time capabilities. This invention responds to the noted deficiencies by providing a novel method, apparatus, and system for providing 4D (e.g., 3D+real-time) based approaches to allow users to view images or models of objects in real-time, offering users an opportunity to engage, access and interact with the objects depicted in real-time. The interaction may entail providing a user instruction as to how to complete a given task responsive to an identified problem. One or more objects may connect with a mobile/remote terminal based on application requirements and the like to facilitate such interaction and/or instruction.

  • Publication number: 20090131123
Abstract: Provided are apparatuses and methods for reducing processor load or power consumption during channel estimation in a receiver. For example, a receiver may monitor a transmission channel and determine if a change in channel parameters or characteristics has occurred. If a change is detected, the receiver may update filter coefficients associated with channel estimation. If a change is not detected, the filter coefficients may be maintained such that no change or updated is made to the filter coefficients.

  • Publication number: 20080288162
Abstract: A method and system for combining short range communication and long range communication for traffic related applications is presented. In one example, a central server is equipped and configured to receive information via long range communication from one or more individual traffic objects, analyze the received information to determine the short range communication needs, if any, between an identified subset of traffic objects and then initiate short range communication between the traffic objects in the identified subset of traffic objects.

  • Publication number: 20080207131
Abstract: In a cognitive radio system, a complexity to be used for a receiver of a cognitive radio is determined, and a connection between an access node and the receiver is changed to a connection having a corresponding complexity. In one embodiment the cognitive radio itself determines the complexity and changes its connection. In another embodiment the cognitive radio sends a request to the access node which makes the change in a new resource allocation. In still another embodiment the access node determines the complexity from a transmission power change of the cognitive radio. Apparatus, methods and embodied computer programs for implementing the invention are detailed.
