  • Patent number: 5802985
Abstract: A guide for supporting transporting pallets and to be located between the legs of the transporting pallet has a one-piece integral body composed of fibers with a heat-hardenable binder, and both end parts of the body have a density which is greater than a density of the central part. The high density of the end parts can be provided by narrowings formed in the region of the end parts and extending either at one side or at both sides of the longitudinal axis of the body. A device for making the guide is formed to increase density of the end parts of the guide.

  • Patent number: 5168817
Abstract: An improved pallet is provided that has a support surface sloped from the outside edges or perimeter to the center of the pallet so that boxes stacked on the pallet will tend to lean toward the center of the pallet. The pallet also is provided with ventilation holes arranged in the surface of the pallet to be aligned with ventilation holes in fruit and vegetable boxes stacked thereon so that cooling air may be circulated through the bottom of the pallet and up through the boxes. Racking members are also provided on the underside of the pallet to offer structural integrity when the pallet is resting on racks.

  • Patent number: 5078938
Abstract: The process for making a molded article from a nonflowable mixture of chip and/or fiber material and a thermally hardenable binder, includes pressing the mixture in a press with a mold closed on all its sides, hardening the mixture in the mold with thermal energy, and feeding a hot gas, especially steam, in the mixture during the pressing to supply at least a portion of the thermal energy required for hardening. To heat and harden the molded article in a minimum time, the hot gas is fed into the mixture in a direction substantially perpendicular to the pressing direction. Introduction of steam begins at least as soon as the onset of the pressing, but ends prior to the end of the pressing. A suitable apparatus for performing this process is described in which the mold cavity has walls containing feed ducts for the hot gas which feed the gas perpendicular to the pressing direction.

  • Patent number: 4552797
Abstract: A covering profile for structures is manufactured by pressing a non-swelling mixture of fibrous materials and thermosetting binding agent. The covering profile has an elongated body whose upper surface is provided with grooves extending parallel to the elongation of the body and being regularly spaced from each other. Associated to each groove in the upper surface are two countergrooves in the rear surface of the body. The method for manufacturing a so-shaped covering profile includes the prepressing in a prepressing tool having plane surfaces while the grooves and countergrooves are produced in the hot pressing.

  • Patent number: 4504347
Abstract: A nonswelling mass of fibers and a thermosetting synthetic resin are cold pressed into a preform body having a predetermined primary volume. This preform body is then hot pressed into an intermediate body having a secondary volume smaller than the primary volume. The press is then opened and a thermosetting synthetic-resin skin is applied to at least a portion of the surface of the intermediate body. Thereafter the skin and body are together pressed into a final integrated body having a volume smaller than the secondary volume. The skin is applied to the intermediate body as a foil.

  • Patent number: 4225545
Abstract: A pourable substance is introduced into a container having a perforated bottom which defines, together with a mold, a forming space which is to be filled with the pourable substance. The forming space has a configuration substantially corresponding to that of the preform to be made, and the pourable substance passes through the perforations of the bottom of the container and is distributed throughout the forming space, owing to vibrations to which the perforated bottom of the container, either alone or together with the container, is subjected. The pourable substance is compacted within the forming space due to the vibration of the perforated bottom so that the preform can be subsequently taken out of the mold and compressed elsewhere into a profiled article, or the profiled article can be produced from the preform directly in the mold.
