  • Patent number: 4838014
Abstract: An improved disc cutter rotor assembly for use in a disc cutterbar of the type utilizing a plurality of intermeshed gears to transfer rotational power is disclosed wherein the rotor assembly provides a low profile to facilitate the flow of crop material over the cutterbar, yet permits the individual components of the rotor assembly to be serviced and/or replaced. The hub and shaft are of welded construction and are rotatably mounted within a bearing housing affixed to the transmission casing for mounting a removable bearing assembly. The drive gear for the rotor assembly is splined onto the shaft and retained in place by a fastener and washer assembly to permit the drive gear to be removed from the shaft. A sealed hole in the bottom of the transmission casing permits access to the fastener and washer assembly to permit the drive gear to be removed from the shaft before removing the rotor assembly from the transmission casing.

  • Patent number: 4723401
Abstract: A unitized raking implement having pivotably movable frame arms supported by ground engaging wheels is disclosed wherein a four-bar linkage is used to control the orientation of the wheels between an orientation parallel to the direction of travel of the implement and a non-parallel orientation. The rotation of the wheels into a non-parallel orientation permits the frame arms to be pivotally moved relative to the implement frame upon a corresponding movement of the raking implement. The control linkage includes a control link having a hydraulic cylinder operable to affect an extension of the length of the control link and, thereby, to affect a steering of the wheel between parallel and non-parallel orientations. The four-bar linkage permits the wheels to be returned into the parallel orientation whenever the hydraulic cylinder is fully retracted irrespective of the pivoted position of the respective frame arms.

  • Patent number: 4715171
Abstract: A mechanism for lifting the reel on a mower-conditioner relative to the cutterbar when the header is raised to an upward position is disclosed wherein a link is selectively connectable between the reel arms and the mower-conditioner frame to effect a pivotal movement of the reel arms on the header when the header is raised relative to the mower-conditioner frame by the header lift mechanism. The link can be in the form of a flexible chain operatively engaged with a take-up mechanism to permit storage of the chain when placed in an inoperative position or in the form of a rigid link selectively pivotally connectable to both the frame and the reel arms when movement of the reel relative to the cutterbar is desired.
