  • Patent number: 11099868
Abstract: A system and method are provided for translating a guest instruction of a guest architecture into at least one host instruction of a host architecture. The method comprises providing multiple representation states, each representation state providing a representation in the host architecture for at least one item of state from the guest architecture. A current representation state is then determined from amongst the multiple representation states, and the guest instruction is translated into at least one host instruction in dependence on the current representation state. Through the use of multiple representation states, it has been found that the efficiency of the code translation can be significantly increased, thereby giving rise to performance and energy consumption benefits.

  • Patent number: 10877767
Abstract: There is provided an apparatus that includes processing circuitry for performing processing operations specified by program instructions and a target register that stores a target program address. A value register stores a data value. There is also provided an architectural register and an instruction decoder that decodes the program instructions to generate control signals to control the processing circuitry to perform the processing operations. The instruction decoder includes branch instruction decoding circuitry that decodes a register restoring branch instruction to cause the processing circuitry to determine whether the target program address and the data value are valid. If the target program address and the data value are both valid then the processing circuitry is caused to branch to the target program address and update the architectural register to store the data value. Otherwise an error action is taken.

  • Patent number: 7359206
Abstract: A self-guiding cover assembly for a vacuum electron device (VED) enclosure (704, 1316) has a cover (1002, 1302), a pair of guide plates, and a pair of guide elements (1304, 1306). The cover has at least one electrical connector (1314) disposed on the inside thereof for mating with a VED. The pair of guide plates is disposed on opposite sides of the outside of the sidewall of the cover. The guide plates each have a track (1310) which guides the guide elements (1304, 1306) mounted on the cover such that the cover is constrained in its motion when opening or closing in order to avoid damaging the connectors to the VED. The cover further comprises a breach lock mechanism for seating the VED into the VED enclosure by rotation of a sleeve (714). The cover (1002, 1302) defines first (1004) and second (1006) chambers separated by a panel 1010. The top of the VED protrudes into the first chamber through an adapter plate 802 having hole 804 for passage of the VED there through.

  • Publication number: 20070240664
Abstract: A device for starting a model airplane engine from a starter motor, electric drill or other drive means. The device for starting a model airplane engine comprises a cylindrical hub having an open end and a closed end, the hub having tubular sidewalls attached to periphery edges of the base and extending towards the open end of the hub. The tubular sidewall is provided with two slots. The slots are positioned diametrically opposed across the axis of revolution of the hub. A substantially flat bumper bracket extends outwards from the hub through the slots. The bumper bracket is equipped with elongated side bumpers attached at opposing ends of the bracket, the side bumpers extending forward from the hub and adapted to interface with and torsionally drive a model airplane propeller. The starting device transferring rotary torque from the drive means to the airplane propeller and engine to crank the engine and thereby facilitate starting of the engine.

  • Patent number: 6452937
Abstract: A voice messaging system is implemented using a PCMCIA card or other type of card, and a host call processing device such as a PBX switch. The card includes a processor operative to implement various voice messaging system functions, and a memory for storing voice data used in the voice messaging system. The host call processing device has a socket adapted to receive the card. The card receives voice data from the host call processing device for storage in the memory, and delivers voice data retrieved from the memory to the host call processing device. The voice data is communicated between the card and the host over a custom serial bus which includes a time-division multiplexed voice data line divided into a plurality of time slots, each of the time slots providing a distinct voice data channel at a designated bit rate.

  • Patent number: 6256319
Abstract: A distributed processing telephone system for providing “plug-and-play” capability. In particular, a key telephone system comprises a plurality of telephone sets. Each telephone set is coupled to at least one common communications channel, or telephone line, and includes at least one tunable RF modem. There is no key service unit (KSU). That is, the system is KSU-less. Resources of the telephone system are allocated using a peer-to-peer protocol. For example, as each telephone set is newly added to the system, the new telephone set adaptively determines its own allocation of resources, e.g., intercom numbers, etc. During operation, each telephone set requests the appropriate resources from its peers.
