  • Patent number: 4989425
Abstract: In order to carry out the three-position selection of needles, that is, for floated stitch, retained stitch and discharged stitch, in either direction of rotation of the needles cylinder of a circular knitting machine with alternate motion for the production of socks with inlay patterns a cylinder is provided with needles and underneedles, and with pusher jacks provided with a heel (7,8) at both ends and engaged to a rear, centrifugal action spring. Two oscillating selectors vertically superimposed and symmetrically disposed with respect to the horizontal separation line are provided. Two electromagnets are provided vertically superimposed for the selection of said oscillating selectors. Such selection apparatus it is possible to reduce the diameter of the needles cylinder to less than 4" with a fineness above 120 needles and to work at a speed higher than the one presently allowed.

  • Patent number: 4989424
Abstract: This invention relates to an electronically controlled electromagnetic needle selection device which is used in the in a circular knitting machine. The device operates in the direction of the needle cylinder rotation and can include reciprocating motion. It is used particularly for making ladies' stockings and includes a cylinder with needles and elastic pusher jacks which are housed in corresponding longitudinal grooves. Each pusher jack is provided with three butts: an upper butt which cooperates with a first ring cam for lowering into the selection position, an intermediate butt which cooperates with a presser cam in the centripetal direction, and a lower butt provided with a cam for raising the pusher jack to activate the corresponding needle. The device also has a rim structure fixed to the needle cylinder and provided, in line with each pusher jack, with a radial horizontal groove for housing an elastic selector.

  • Patent number: 4709563
Abstract: In order to form argyle intarsia patterns, stacked arrays of selection levers cooperate with selection butts, the levers being capable of selecting the needles to be raised. Each array of selection levers is located symmetrically between two adjacent yarn feeding stations for cooperation with one or the other feeding station to select the desired needles depending upon the direction of machine reciprocating motion. The jack lifting and lowering profiles on the respective operative cam rings are symmetrical with respect to the feeding stations and to the arrays of selection levers. The jack lifting profiles include "V" shaped notches in alignment with the selection levers, and, correspondingly, the intermediate-jack lowering profiles include "V" shaped projections provided for further lowering the intermediate jacks.

  • Patent number: 4557117
Abstract: An automatic coin-fed ice-lolly producing and dispensing machine comprises an ice-lolly mould in two parts (9A,9B) kept at a freezing temperature by a refrigeration plant; a controlled supply of pre-cooled syrups (from 17); and apparatus for separating the product from the mould by inducing one part (9A) to move (f9) relative to the other (9B). The product then either drops out of the tilted mould, or is lifted by its stick (15).

  • Patent number: 4426343
Abstract: There are disclosed a process for the continuous production of open, composite reticulated structures consisting of at least two superimposed or overlapping fibrilled films of synthetic polymers, and apparatus for effecting the transversal opening or stretching (with respect to the slitting or fibrilling direction) of a fibrilled film or of a combination of at least two superimposed fibrilled films and which comprises a feeding system for the fibrilled film, a pair of diverging guides each closing upon itself in the form of a ring for transverse stretching of the film, a series of clamps sliding on guides for gripping the edges of the film or film assembly, means for feeding the clamps to the guides, a series of two pulling means for engaging the clamps, means for opening the clamps and dragging them along the guides to the feeding devices, and means for take-up of the open film or the assembly of open films.

  • Patent number: 4316488
Abstract: A circular loom is disclosed for tubular fabric consisting essentially of strips of synthetic, artificial and natural substances, said loom being of the vertical heald type with healds arranged on concentric rings, with the drawing and the winding up of the fabric being formed on a fabric gauging cylinder arranged downstream of the shuttles, characterized in that said loom comprises one single rotary positive cam with a double track for the control of the alternate motion of the healds, said cam consisting essentially of a hollow cylinder turning coaxially inside the fabric-gauging cylinder and on whose outside cylindrical surface there are provided two closed track guide cams having a substantially helicoidal development, of which one is the cam controlling the motion of the external healds, while the other controls the internal healds, those guiding cams being associated with guide-pads or cam followers which are integral with saddles carrying the healds mounted slidably in fixed vertical guides, thereby im

  • Patent number: 4011738
Abstract: The pant or body portion of a pair of tights or panty hose is produced on a dual-cylinder knitting machine using oscillatory motion of the two cylinders. Subsequently the leg portions of the tights are produced using continuous motion of the two cylinders, one leg portion being formed within the other leg portion.

  • Patent number: 3975924
Abstract: The process is designed for the forming of a collant, i.e. pantyhose article or the like, with a double cylinder circular hosiery machine. The two legs or the like are knit on two cylinders in a simultaneous manner, with a continuous rotational motion, and the pant portion is formed with a fabric knit alternately on the two cylinders, to which the yarn is alternately fed. During the forming of the pant portion one proceeds with a continuous rotational motion of the two cylinders, passing the yarn from the needles of the first cylinder to the needles of the second cylinder at a position angularly spaced from the one wherein the yarn has passed from the needles of the second cylinder to those of the first cylinder. In this manner the tubular fabrics formed by the two cylinders are bound with one another at least at these two positions. In correspondence with the intermediate fabric portion between the two positions, a longitudinal separation cutting is effected.
